January 7, 1931 - March 7, 2016 Alyce was born in Long Island City and spent her early years on the East Coast. She graduated from Syracuse University where she met her husband, actor Peter Falk. As a young woman, Alyce lived and worked in New York City as an illustrative artist and fabric designer, where she created one of the first Waverly designs. In the early 1960's, Alyce and Peter moved to Los Angeles. They had two daughters, Jacqueline and Catherine. While raising her family, Alyce pursued many endeavors which fulfilled her artistic calling. She enjoyed painting, decoupage, interior design, sewing, needlework, and music. After obtaining a Master's degree in music, Alyce became a well-regarded piano teacher in the area and developed a wealth of students. In her later years Alyce continued to live a productive and fulfilling life that included many friends and special relationships. Traveling to Europe and cruising with good friends was her joy. She loved to take daily walks, participated in the SAGES (a senior group for the arts at All Saints' Church in Beverly Hills) and enjoyed time with her beloved dogs. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time outside in nature. Alyce was a loving woman, and dedicated herself to the people in her life. She could always be counted on and was a generous, loyal and loving friend. Daughter of the late Edward and Alice Mayo and sister of the late Jacquelyn Mayo, she is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Falk of Los Angeles and Catherine Falk-Rothchild of San Marino, California; son-in-law Maynard Rothchild; two grandchildren, Logan and Liam Rothchild; a sister Edwina Downs of Pennington, New Jersey, and former husband Harry Derleth. A memorial service will be held at Pierce Brother's Westwood Village Memorial Park, 1218 Glendon Ave., Los Angeles, Ca. 90024 on March 29, 2016 2:00 PM with The Reverend Stephen Huber officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "All Saints' BH SAGES" and sent to All Saints' Parish, 504 N. Camden Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. Condolences to Ms. Mayo’s daughters, family and friends. I am a Peter Falk fan (even taking foto of street named after him at his Ossining home!) and remember when my mom worked at TWA gift shop in LA and first saw him. It was around 1965-66 and there was talk of this actor starring in a new tv series! We became such fans of his and remember the photos with his wife. I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Falk’s former wife, Alyce Mayo, whom I always heard he held in such high esteem and affection. I’ve learned here of so many admirable talents and interests she had and am happy to hear she had such a fulfilled and generous life. I see why she was so loved. To her daughters, family, and friends: May you find comfort in your loving memories of her and her love for you. Thank you for all the pictures you’ve shared here which show how much she was loved. May you Rest In Peace, Alyce Mayo. Sincerely yours, Marilyn Jorge.

Behind every great man, there is a great woman and Alyce was Peter's woman. She helped make him who he became. I believe he always loved her and when he constantly spoke of his wife, it was Alyce that he had on his mind. She exuded class, love, joy, talent and was everything you'd want in a mom and in a wife. RIP beautiful Alyce.

May your beautiful mother's memory live eternally!!! She was such a perfect marriage for your father. It really saddened me as a teen, when I heard about the tragic divorce. She never let it defeat her. She was a devoted mother in everything that I've read. God's comfort to you both, Jaclyn and Catherine
