Chairman
Chernin kept at his typical M&A and investment behavior this year atop prodco The North Road Company, buying a minority stake in Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and acquiring Turkish film and TV powerhouse Karga Seven Pictures, on the heels of receiving a hefty $150 million from the Qatar government investment fund back in January. In July, Chernin scooped up David Nevins as North Road’s new CEO, just a few months after the longtime Paramount and Showtime exec exited the Bob Bakish-led company before its major leadership shakeup and rebrand of Showtime to Paramount+ With Showtime. In October, Chernin’s prodco set a JFK limited series in development at Netflix from “Killers of the Flower Moon” co-writer Eric Roth. In November, North Road acquired a stake in Two One Five Entertainment, the production company founded by Questlove and Black Thought of The Roots.
