KINGSTON, N.Y. — Peter Buffett, an Ulster County resident whose NoVo Foundation has donated millions of dollars to various organizations and initiatives in the Mid-Hudson Valley, will hold weekly online information sessions about the foundation’s efforts.
The “Conversation With NoVo” sessions will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, starting this week and running through the end of the year. The meetings are limited to 12 people each, and access will be granted on a first-come/first-served basis. Those interested in participating can sign up at meeting.novofoundation.org.
“These conversations are another way for people to have a direct conversation with myself and others at NoVo,” Buffett said in an email Tuesday. “They’re purposefully kept to a small number of participants so folks have an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversation as opposed to a more basic Q&A.”
An announcement about the sessions said they will have “no set agenda. … We would just like space to talk with anyone who would like to talk with us.”
A statement from the Midtown Arts District in Kingston said the online sessions will be a “unique opportunity … to have a conversation with NoVo and Peter [and] ask questions, discover more about their commitment to our area, and listen to their intentions.”
Buffett, a Mabletown resident and the youngest son of multibillionaire investor Warren Buffett, established the NoVo Foundation about 15 years ago with his wife, Jennifer. From just 2017 to 2019, the foundation doled out $116 million to nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, school districts, farm programs, food pantries, municipal governments and other entities in Ulster County and the surrounding area, according to tax records.
