今天要介紹給大家的 6 組單字根本就是同卵雙胞胎，不仔細看完全不會發現有哪裡不對勁，明明只差一個字，意思卻可是天差地遠喔！建議大家在背這些單字時要多唸出聲音，才不會把母音搞錯啦！
1. bazaar v.s. bizarre
bazaar
bazaar 這個字是「市集；義賣」，當作市集時，通常是指中東和南亞的市集。
In the Christmas bazaar, you can find many useful second-hand items.
在耶誕義賣，你可以找很多有用的二手物品。
bizarre
bizarre 這個字等同 weird，指「怪誕的、怪異的、奇異的」，但 bizarre 通常會拿來形容事物而不是形容人。
I could not understand these bizarre paintings by Picasso at all.
我完全無法理解那些畢卡索的怪異畫作。
2. confident v.s. confidant
confident
很多人小時候可能都學過這個字，也就是「有自信的；有把握的 」，它的名詞是 confidence，雖然這個字看起來很簡單，但母音可別記錯啦！
Facing the formidable rival, the young player is confident in himself.
面對強勁的敵手，那位年輕的球員依舊對自己很有自信。
confidant
confidant 跟 confident 只有一字之差，但它卻是名詞，意思是「知心朋友；知己」。
I always share my deepest secrets with my confidant.
我總是跟我的知己分享最私人的秘密。
3. diary v.s. dairy
diary
diary是「日記」，如果要說「寫日記」，是 keep a diary，不是 write a diary。另外補充，「養寵物」也是用 keep a pet，或是 keep … (某種動物) as a pet。

你有寫日記的習慣嗎？
dairy
dairy 可以直接當名詞指「乳製品」，也可以當形容詞，指「奶牛的、乳製品的」，所以奶牛就是 dairy cow/cattle，乳製品的另一種說法則是 dairy product。
Some doctors indicate that full-fat dairy actually benefits your heart.
有些醫生指出，全脂乳製品其實對你的心臟有好處。
4. marital v.s. martial
marital
大家都知道「跟某人結婚」是 get married with sb.，而這邊的 marital 就是「婚姻的」，名詞則是 marriage。
Once marital problems start to accumulating, divorce becomes a possibility.
一旦婚姻問題開始累積，最後就有可能以離婚收場。
martial
martial 這個字的唸法要注意，結尾的 tial 是發 /ʃəl/，意思是「軍隊的；軍事的」，我們可能不常看到這個字單獨使用， 但 martial arts 就是「(日本或中國的) 武術」，像是劍道、柔道、功夫都算是武術，如果說 martial law 則是「軍事管制；戒嚴」。
Many foreigners have the greatest enthusiasm for Chinese martial arts.
很多外國人都對中國武術很熱衷。
5. perspective v.s. prospective
perspective
perspective 跟 point of view、opinion、view 都是一樣的意思，指「(思考問題的) 角度，觀點」，但在用法上有許多小細節需要注意，如果你要說「我認為；就我的觀點而言」你可以說：
My perspective on sth. is …
From my perspective, …
From my point of view, …
In my opinion, …
In my view, …My perspective on the environmental issue is very different from my professor’s.
我對環境議題的看法與我的教授大相逕庭。
prospective
這個字的名詞是 prospect 指「可能性；前景；展望」，prospective 則是形容詞，意思是「預期的；未來的；有希望的」，如果說 prospective clients 直翻是未來的客戶，也就是「潛在客戶」。
We have to use some new strategies to draw more prospective clients.
我們必須用一些新的策略來吸引更多潛在客戶。
6. stationery v.s. stationary
stationery
stationery 是不可數名詞，意思是「文具」，文具店就是 stationery store/shop 。
In this stationery store, you can find different kinds of notebooks.
在這間文具店，你可以找到各式各樣的筆記本。
stationary
stationary 是形容詞，指「靜止的；不變的」。你可能有發現，stationary (靜止的) 跟 stationery (文具) 的音標和唸法完全一樣，所以如果真的在生活中聽到這個字，就要用前後文來判斷到底是在講哪個字了！
Being stationary for long periods of time does harm to your health!
長時間維持同一個姿勢會對你的健康有害！
