Sophomore: Gorgeous campus, close knit student body, and the perfect distance from NYC! Tons of career and networking opportunities in Gabelli. I actually really enjoyed some of my core classes. A more low key party scene during the week but people are definitely out on friday/saturday. The dorms are average, some are nicer than others. Food on campus at the cafeteria is okay but they other locations that have sushi/bagels/acai bowls that are pretty good. A lot of people study abroad and Fordham has campuses in London and Spain which make it super easy which is great. Athletics aren’t huge, but people come to basketball. Rose Hill is definitely better for people who want a college experience on a college campus while also having access to the city. As someone from New York City, the "Knight Mover" service was one of my favorites; this service, available from 3am to 6am, ensured safe transportation for students–with no questions asked. Sophomore: Wagner College is such a fun little community centered college. Truly, it's like a small town. Everyone knows each other and attitudes towards one another are relatively positive (Obviously there are exceptions). Every Professor I have had the pleasure to meet are very genuine and qualified people who all want their students to succeed. As a Theatre Performance major, it's been so exciting to work with professors and adjunct who are fresh out-of-the industry. This experience isn't limited to just Theatre, I have a minor in Marketing and have had nothing but a great time working with School of Business. The food here is also not too bad, I wouldn't put it high up on a pedestal however. My one major complaint is the quality of the buildings, as this is a very old campus. With a couple of exceptions for GenEd courses (which could happen anywhere), the professors were exceptional in my major and minor. I learned an incredible amount, was consistently challenged, and the NYTREC was amazing. The campus is beautiful, safe, and near a cute downtown. Like many universities, the food is not outstanding. Socially, it is not the large party school with Greek life. However, I was always able to hang out with good friends and NY is close by and easy to get to. Dorms were fine, but some rooms are small. However, that is the case at many schools. If you are looking for a strong academic experience with small classes, Drew is a great option. Sophomore: How I would describe Brooklyn College is like a one-and-done go. I picked only two days to go to campus because I recently moved away from Brooklyn and it's a 2-hour commute from where I live now. My day there is attending my 4 classes and with the breaks in between them, I like to study in the library or finish up work that needs to be done during the weekend, have some lunch with my classmates, etc. The student life here I would say is very inclusive, most people have their groups and just stay to themselves. What I would like to see change is the conditions of the buildings and the club & association environment. The conditions are manageable but could be better, most of the time the elevator doesn't work, very bad wifi, and not too many areas to have lunch, hang out, or study (besides the library). Alum: City College made sure to connect students to the right resources at the appropriate times. Asking an department a question either led to an answer or a transfer. I found myself with a lot of questions regarding my financial aid that was through the state. Thanks to those working in financial aid, they were able to redirect me to the coordinator of my grants which helped me finish paying off my last few semesters at City College. One thing I would like to see a change in is the bored members of the Athletics Department who do not take a lot of student led suggestions in fear of change. There should be no fear in change and ideas should be discussed not dismissed. Suggestions do not need to be implemented however a discussion with students on why a suggestion may not work would lead to better communication, better suggestions and a build in the athletics morale....
