- Nick SchwartzBloomington, MN273 contributionsIncredible Museum about the history of Caterpillar products. Really enjoyed the exhibits and videos. Very friendly staff and Knowledgeable. What made my visit so great was the extra factory tour. Our guide Ryan was great to talk with and very friendly.Written March 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marietta HBranson, MO179 contributionsPut 3210 Grandview Drive, Peoria, to get to the start of the driving trail. It was a gorgeous drive with amazing views and gorgeous houses to drool over. Along the almost two mile drive, there are several pullouts where you can park and walk or just admire the view for a few minutes. There are benches and picnic tables all along the drive.Written June 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - westwardh0Castle Pines, CO310 contributionsWe'd lived in this area for 35 years, and I never really appreciated it until I returned and hiked the complete Bee Tree trail. A little challenging and good exercise and in the summer, the mature trees provide shade for a nice family hike.Written June 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ted B26 contributionsInteresting museum. Movies and planetarium cost extra. Worth a visit if you are in the area. Exhibits change over time. Check first to see what they have.Written May 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- landlockedinILillinois60 contributionsI was concerned there may not be enough here to interest my older kid (10), but both he and his 6 year old brother (and I!) had so much fun here. The exhibits were very engaging, clean, and varied enough that we spent a few hours here. Our top faves were the kinetic sand porch (including the giant vacuums to clean ourselves off with afterward), the ball cannon, the construction area where they could operate a kid-sized (which is still pretty big) loader, the tools area where staff helped them saw, nail, drill, and create in a safe way, and surprisingly the train room. We have many train pieces at home, but for some reason, they loved playing with them here on the train tables more than at home.
Parking was a breeze, the air conditioning was great even on a scorching hot summer day, and admission was reasonable. I have seen coupons online, though, and there was discounted admission after 2:00. The place was not crowded at all, which was a nice change from some other kids museums we’ve been to. If you are nearby and need an afternoon out with the kids, it’s definitely on the to-do list at least once.Written August 1, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. July, 2022 Visit
Our daughter discovered the band Greta Van Fleet early summer, 2022, and quickly found that they would be playing in Peoria, IL, and she recommended a road trip.
We had a great time, thanks in part to the home of the Peoria Rivermen, the Peoria Civic Center.
The concert was in the hockey arena part of the Civic Center.
The staff had a good setup that helped people get in without waiting in line… a big room with amusement park-like lines going back and forth… we were a bit late… missed the first opening band, so perhaps that is why… we didn’t stop to stand still at all as we wove through those lines… we just walked at a good pace and were inside.
The show was general admission on the floor, where the hockey ice would be for a game and… no seats… awesome… concerts are meant for singing and dancing and chairs get in the way… thank you for no chairs, Peoria Civic Center!
Great show by the band.
Great location for the souvenir tables… plenty of space where they planned it.

It is a small zoo and unfortunately due to COVID-19 some of the buildings we would liked to have seen were closed. Overall it was a nice road trip break.Written April 4, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jfaddsNaperville, IL4,782 contributionsEasy free parking- but lock car and leave nothing visible to avoid break in- this is what they state on sign at entrance.
You enter into greenhouse and then walk into the gardens.
Free admission- contributions appreciated
Near the zoo- could easily be combined for same day visit

Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Jason L3 contributionsAfter 20 years of coaching at sports complexes across ten different states, I am confident in my claim that this facility is the best I have visited. The field quality, management, and maintenance are second to none. The amenities, including a team store, a cafe serving restaurant-quality meals (Suite Fire), and a full-service bar, are unreal. In conclusion, if you can play here - do! You will not be disappointed.Written July 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Expedition595298Union City, IN1 contributionAlways looking for small stops along the way. Sister Ann’s personal tour thru the Bishop Fulton J. Sheen Museum was very informative. Interesting articles in the museum. We also did a self tour of the Cathredral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Awesome and beautiful! We were there about 1 1/2 hours but could have went thru it in less time. I recommend it.Written August 29, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Freedom5654306 contributionsWe were stopping in Peoria and planned ahead to see the show "Ragtime." It was awesomely well done with wonderful music and acting. The sound was a bit off as the instrumental parts sometimes drowned out the singing but it was the first night so I assume that will be corrected. The theme of the show was thought provoking. Interesting that societal issues of the past often turn up again. This musical gave a lot of food for discussion of our current situation.Written July 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
