About Pembrokeshire College

building

Pembrokeshire College is a dynamic and high quality provider of education and training, providing opportunities for 1,800 full-time and approximately 11,000 part-time learners on a wide range of further education, higher education, work-based learning, international and online learning programmes.

The roots of the College can be traced back to 1956 with the main campus being situated in Pembrokeshire’s county town of Haverfordwest. The economic infrastructure in the county is one which is dominated by small employers and those who are self-employed. However, the multi-national businesses based on or around the Haven waterways form an extremely important part of the economic make-up of the County, through which nearly 30% of the UK’s oil and gas is imported.

Higher education has been expanded through a strategic alliance with Swansea University, while our Work-based Learning (WBL) Consortium sees the College leading 4 colleges and 4 private training providers in the delivery of a £15m contract training 5,000 apprentices and trainees annually.

We are proud of our educational heritage and are aspirational about our future. We believe we have a responsibility to provide first class education and training to ensure that Wales has a workforce ready and able to meet the economic demands of the future and to promote community engagement in skills.

We have a highly qualified, supportive and dedicated team of staff who care about their students. We have excellent facilities and resources. We are financially strong and continue to invest in our College facilities.

As a College we are committed to developing a ‘culture of aspiration’ for our students, employers and communities.
