FC Bayern and Paul Wanner have agreed that the 17-year-old midfielder will join Elversberg on a season-long loan to gain match practice in Bundesliga 2. Wanner first came to the FC Bayern Campus in 2018.
Jochen Sauer, director of youth development: “It’s now important for Paul’s development that he gets regular game time in a professional league. Promoted Elversberg have offered him that chance in the second division. We wish him all the best there.”
Wanner has worked his way up at the Campus from Bayern’s U14s and made his senior debut in January 2022. The Germany youth international has made eight appearances each for the club’s first team and reserves, scoring once for the latter.
