In case you’ve been respectfully wondering, Paul Rudd, man who is aging backward, is in a committed relationship—and has been since 2003. While Paul is pretty low-key about his romantic life (meaning he’s not touching tongues on the red carpet like Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian), he’s been married for almost *checks notes* 20 full years. I know, right? Whomst knew!

Paul and his wife, Julie Yaeger, got together right after Paul was in Clueless and went on to have two cute kids named Jack Sullivan and Darby. Again, who knew? Not me! Anyway, since Paul’s personal life seems to be Brand! New! Information! to many people, here’s everything we know about Julie and their cute ’ship.

She’s a Screenwriter

Julie started her career as a publicist (that’s how she and Paul met), but these days, she is a producer and screenwriter. Julie actually wrote Fun Mom Dinner, which Paul produced and starred in!

Oh, and she and Paul co-own a candy store upstate with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton, a fact that we can all agree is extremely wholesome.

She Was the First Person Paul Met in NYC

Paul rarely opens up about his personal life, but he told Marie Claire back in 2018 that Julie was the first person he met after he moved to New York City following Clueless.

“She was the first person I met in New York. We started talking and there was a maturity with her—she had experienced some tragedy in her life, I had too, and the impression I got was, wow, this is a woman. This isn’t a girl. I was really taken with who she was and how she had overcome and was in the process of overcoming adversities in her life. There was a perspective that she had and still has on the world that you don’t come too easily—it’s earned and most people don’t have it at such a young age.”

Psst: Paul and Julie did a super-rare interview together during the early days of the pandemic and briefly talked about their meeting if you wanna watch:

Oh, and here’s a cute pic from the early days of their ’ship:

Her Reaction to Him Getting Sexiest Man Alive? “Stupefied”

“She was stupefied,” Paul told People. “But you know, she was very sweet about it. After some giggling and shock, she said, ‘Oh, they got it right.’ And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what’s she going to say?”

His reaction to getting this honor? Talking about how much he loves his wife and kids, obviously:

Their Relationship Was the Inspo for Knocked Up and This Is 40

Paul did an interview with Jewish Journal back in 2012 and was asked about his marriage being used as inspiration for both Knocked Up and This Is 40.

“Actually, there were more specifics in Knocked Up,” he said when asked about This Is 40. “When Judd was writing that movie, my wife once said, ‘I’m so sick of looking at your back,’ because I was just on the computer all day, checking my fantasy football scores.”

He also opened up about the hemorrhoid scene, saying, “Sometimes in a real marriage, it’s about asking your wife to look at this and what does that look like? While it’s not traditionally romantic, I would say it’s arguably romantic in its intimacy. The idea that a couple can do that for each other is very romantic. I also think that in a strange way, being able to fart in front of each other—that’s a very sweet gesture!”

Paul and Julie Have Made an Official Appearance With Their Kids *Once*

And it was to celebrate Paul’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, naturally:

Although Paul’s son, Jack, also accompanied him to an NFL game.

Kay, one more cute thing before we go. When asked what his “most attractive feature” is by Elle UK, Paul said, “I’d say my wife.”
