Here's Why Paul Greene Actually Left 'When Calls The Heart'

When Calls The Heart returned tonight and many fans are trying to find out just why Paul Greene left the show.

If you’re unaware, the 47-year-old actor portrayed Dr. Carson Shephard in the long running series on Hallmark Channel from seasons four until season eight.

Now, we can reveal why Paul decided to leave the show…

In the show, Carson actually left Hope Valley to pursue a fellowship in Baltimore after he and Faith (Andrea Brooks) decided to end their relationship.

At the moment, it doesn’t seem like he will be back for season nine either.

In a recent podcast, Paul opened up about the possibility of returning to the show, and it’s possible he actually will after completing the surgical fellowship.

“It’s hard to say. A lot can happen in the off-season,” he shared on the Bubbly Sesh podcast. “There’s a big time jump in between seasons. Faith’s character became a doctor in the off-season. There’s so much that can happen … I have no idea what’s going on.”

In reality, Paul stepped away from the show as he and fiancée Kate Austin actually expecting their first child together. The baby boy arrived in November and they named him Austin.

Paul has also been working on music, and has starred in a few other Hallmark projects since leaving the show.
