The Boston Bruins have recalled forward Patrick Brown from Providence, it was announced Sunday.

After being called up, Brown subsequently saw his first NHL playoff action with the Bruins in Game 1 against the Florida Panthers. The last time Brown suited up in the NHL playoffs was during the 2020-21 season  with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Splitting time between Boston and Providence, Brown was a key contributor in Rhode Island this season, scoring 11 goals and adding 21 assists for 32 points in 42 games. In 11 regular season games with the big club, he registered an assist.

While he was held pointless in his first playoff game with Boston, he has three points in two games with Providence who are currently tied with the Hartford Wolf Pack in the second round.

Throughout the last few seasons, the Bloomfield Hills, MI., native has been a serviceable bottom-six NHL forward. He split last season between the Philadelphia Flyers and Ottawa Senators, collecting 12 points in 61 games.

With this being the first season since 2019-20 where Brown has spent the majority of games in the AHL, he is likely hoping he can cement himself quickly to remain with the big club for the remainder of the playoffs.
