This is THE PLACE to get Shrimp and Grits. We sat outside during the day and it was delightful. I have never had Shrimp and grits before, and if you haven't, this is the place to start.

My first meal in Nee Orleans was a very enjoyable experience. The wait staff were helpful and attentive. The food was tasty and arrived very quickly. Would happily recommend this to anyone who enjoys good wholesome food.

Wasn't real impressed. It is definitely touristy. A person comes around and wants to take your picture, the person stationed in the bathroom even wants a tip. The food was just average. Drinks average. I would probably pass next time.

Great atmosphere and decent drinks. I was not impressed with their Hurricane and this place is known for them. The best Hurricane I had in NO was at the Olde Nolas Cookery. I would still recommend doing to Pat's as it is a fun place with lots of drinks to choose from.

Food was good. Hurricane was super sweet, and they charge you for your glass even if you don't want it, making you "return" the glass at the bar and get cash refund. Pain in the butt in my book

My partner in crime and i went Here on our first night, we were both told that we had to try the Hurricanes. So we had 2 hurricanes and 2 burgers with fries. The Hurricanes were so good. Wow. By the time the food came i was over there going i need carbs. :) The burgers were good. Had i known they were that big i would have split it with my traveling partner. We were sitting in the bar area enjoying the atmosphere from the these guys that were really in to the game. It was a great time.

Our first night in the French Quarter, we decided to have dinner and drinks at Pat O'Brien's Courtyard Restaurant. The Rustic pasta with Louisiana crawfish, gulf shrimp and local smoked sausage simmered down in a light spicy sauce spiked with tomatoes and fresh lemon, loaded with penne pasta and topped with parmesan cheese. It was excellent. The classic hurricane was tasty as well. This is one of the must visits while you are in the French Quarter.

It was my best friend's and my first visit to Nola & Pat O'Briens was highly recommended to us. Awesome decision!! We ordered jambalaya, gumbo and the New Orleans special The Hurricane. I had never had jambalaya before & thought it was absolutely delicious!! Must say it was one of the most memorable dinners of our month-long trip in the US. The ambiance, food, service & location was perfect and made us feel very much a part of the local culture. Has a lovely courtyard outside too. Worth your time and money. Highly recommend! :)

More impressive than the home of the hurricane drink is their beer stein collection. Must be a couple hundred hanging from the ceiling and quite a few of them are very old. Try to catch a bartender during a slow time and see if they can show you a few.

I first went to Pat O'Brien's in 1977. It has not changed much since then. Still a fun place to enjoy a Famous Hurricane and keep the glass . Courtyard seating, genial staff, and good food. We had the Shrimp Etoufee, Grilled Black Drum Fish with sautéed vegetables, and Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Well worth the time. Go early to avoid the drunken crowds. Or, what the heck, go late and join the drunken crowds!

The courtyard was great. Great music with a great hurricane equals success. You can keep the class for $3.00 more and you even get a bag of popcorn. Definitely recommend the experience.

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
