Public parking meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. unless otherwise stated on the meter or central pay station. Cost is $2.20/hour; free on evenings, Sundays and all holidays observed by City of Ann Arbor employees. City holidays are: New Year’s Eve Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous People’s Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday, Christmas Eve Day, and Christmas Day. Public Parking: Lots, Structures and Meters
The Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority (DDA) last increased rates on July 1, 2022. The DDA oversees management of all public parking structures, lots and meters. For information on hourly parking or monthly permits, please see the

Parking Tickets
The fine for an expired meter parking ticket is $15 if paid by the end of the next business day, $25 if paid within 14 days, $60 if paid after 14 days and $70 after 30 days.
Parking Ticket Payment Options
To admit responsibility for the ticket, you may:

- A flat rate service charge of $2.95 or 3%, whichever is greater, will be assessed for tickets paid online.

*Phone and online payment options are unavailable 2-2:30 a.m. EST daily.
Pay by mail: Mail check or money order only - do not mail cash - to City of Ann Arbor Customer Service Center, PO Box 8647 | Ann Arbor, MI 48107-8647. Postmarks are accepted as evidence of timely payment.
Pay by 24-hour drop box: Drop boxes are located just inside Larcom City Hall (301 E. Huron St., at the north/Ann Street entrance); and a drive-up drop box across from Larcom City Hall (300 E. Ann St.,
northeast corner of Fifth and Ann streets).
Pay in person: If you require a receipt, you may pay 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays at the Customer Service Center (first floor of Larcom City Hall, 301 E. Huron St.).
- Parking ticket payments represent your wish to admit responsibility for the ticket, and will not be refunded.
- Bad checks will result in additional fees becoming payable, and possible prosecution under state law.
- Overpayments of fines will be handled under the city's
parking overpayment policy (PDF).
- Please note, in effect as of April 1, 2010, payment plans to pay parking tickets are not available.
Appeal a Ticket - Parking Referee
Parking tickets may be appealed through the parking referee, who will investigate and make a decision on the matter.
Request to Appeal a Parking Referee Decision to the 15th District Court
If you have previously appealed a parking ticket through the parking referee and wish to appeal the parking referee’s finding to the 15th District Court, you must complete an informal hearing request form. See form for details.
Towing
Six (6) or more unpaid City of Ann Arbor and/or University of Michigan parking tickets may result in: (1) the impoundment of your vehicle without further notice, or (2) the loss of your right to renew your driver’s license. Towing results in additional expenses incurred by the owner of the vehicle as well as the parking ticket.
What to do if your Car has been Towed
If your car has been towed for unpaid parking tickets, it will not be released until you have either paid all amounts owed. Before release, all towing, and per-day storage charges, must also be paid at the towing company. Payment plans to pay parking tickets are not available. Residential Parking Permits
The
Residential Parking Permit (RPP) program allows vehicles owned by residents to park in an RPP neighborhood for the posted time limit without being ticketed. If your neighborhood is participating in an RPP Program you will need to acquire and display a residential parking permit decal for every vehicle that will park on neighborhood streets during the specified enforcement period. University of Michigan Home Football Games - and Other Stadium Events - On-street Parking Restrictions
Scheduled 2024 stadium events with on-street parking restrictions
in effect 8 a.m.-midnight are:
Michigan Spring Football game, Saturday,
April 20, 12 p.m. ; regular-season home games - Saturdays,
Aug. 31; Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28;
Oct. 26;
Nov. 2, 23.
University of Michigan graduation on
May 4.

On-street parking restrictions will be in effect 8 a.m. to midnight on University of Michigan home football game days and other stadium events as indicated per City Council resolution.
