"The term opera dream couple does not adequately describe what Anna Netrebko and Jonas Kaufmann did at the end of the Salzburg Whitsun Festival as Floria Tosca and Mario Cavaradossi in Giacomo Puccini's opera 'Tosca'. The maturity and size of their darkly timbred voices that were nevertheless luminous in the heights, his most intimate, most sophisticated 'E lucevan le stelle', her glowing, anticipatory exclamation 'Dio mi perdona. Egli vede ch'io piango!' (...) that was overwhelming, but not the self-sufficient overwhelming of an opera gala
- Frankfurter Rundschau

"At her side, Jonas Kaufmann impressed as Cavaradossi with his famous velvety tones, beguiling piani, and the incredible security of his high notes. His 'Vittoria!' and his 'E lucevan le stelle' was rewarded by the audience with thunderous applause, and became an event."

Tosca in Salzburg

Cast change for the "Tosca" performance at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival (May 24). Anja Harteros and Bryn Terfel have been forced to cancel their participation in the festival and as a result, Anna Netrebko and Luca Salsi have agreed to perform the title role and Scarpia on short notice. They will appear alongside Jonas Kaufmann as Mario Cavaradossi and Cecilia Bartoli who will sing the role of the young shepherd, with which she made her debut at the Opera in Rome at the age of ten.
