The movie follows a group of teenagers that are terrorized by an evil spirit. The film revolves around the traditional Filipino belief that one should never go home directly after visiting a wake since it risks bringing evil spirits or the deceased to one's home.

"Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay" aka "Pagpag: Nine Lives" was definitely not a very interesting movie.
The plot was one of the issues for me. The writing/script felt quite poor to me. The plan seemed to be going for screams lol
Another issue for me was the acting, which was mostly poor.
The ending wasn't really that great either... quite lackluster, given the circumstances.
Overall, a movie that felt quite below standards. While the premise and some of the story actually had some potential, I think the writing and execution were definitely on strong negative territory. The acting definitely didn't help either.
It hits like a Filipino homage to J-horror plotting produced by the CW with a slashed budget and a script pounded out by a teenager who fell asleep reading about Southeast Asian funeral customs and dreamed about a dollar store Freddy Krueger. It ain’t great but it’s the kind of “ain’t great” that’s better than a lot of other obnoxious crap-fests.

One of many Filipino mainstream productions with untalented actors, silly dialogue and characters. The script is unprofessional and loveless.
Several parallel stories are being told. For a while you don't know how they are connected. Most take place in the upper class, which doesn't give me much: Boring, spoiled snobs with silly problems. Ultimately, we find out that...

....the spirit of a recently deceased man wants to murder nine characters because they ignored some rules during his vigil.

The pictures are what´s best here. The makers have actually shown some taste and also selected a few good locations. Only the CGI is pretty bad.
If you only know Filipino productions that you can stream on N**f***, you might think that this country only comes with crap.
A lighthearted horror movie that has some serious pacing and character issues but manages to inject enough fun and imagination into its villains, death scenes, and plot twists that it’s largely watchable.
Plus I’m always a fan of a movie that can introduce me to a new superstition or two… or in this case, six or seven.
just remembered how many funeral superstitions filipinos have lmfao...this used to give nightmares as a child now its just funny
