A new rumor suggests a significant role for Owen Wilson's Agent Mobius and the TVA in Deadpool 3. First seen in Marvel's Loki series on Disney+, the Time Variance Authority was tasked with protecting the Sacred Timeline from multiversal chaos. However, based on these new reports, they might not be prepared for the chaos created by Deadpool and Wolverine.

As reported by insider Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic podcast with John Rocha, rumors have been building that Owen Wilson is set to reprise his role as the TVA's Agent Mobius in Deadpool 3, starring opposite Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Not only does this new report support past rumors hinting at Wilson's involvement, but Mobius and the TVA getting involved in Deadpool's upcoming antics make a lot of sense narratively.

Why Agent Mobius & The TVA Are Perfect For Deadpool 3

Deadpool Ryan Reynolds Miss Minutes TVA

It's been heavily suggested that Deadpool 3 will be very focused on the multiverse. After all, Deadpool and Wolverine are from an entirely different universe and timeline set apart from the primary MCU. Likewise, Hugh Jackman's return as Wolverine after the character's death in Logan suggests multiversal shenanigans on Wade Wilson's part as well, not to mention the expectations that Deadpool will be attempting to enter the MCU on a long-term basis. It's a mission that will likely be very meta-based with plenty of references to Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox and the X-Men franchise.

As such, Agent Mobius playing a role in Deadpool 3 makes plenty of sense as an in-universe response to whatever Deadpool may have planned. It's also worth noting that Tara Strong's TVA mascot Miss Minutes will be featured as well, an indication that Mobius won't be alone and that Deadpool and Wolverine will be battling the entirety of the TVA. Although the end of Lok season 1 saw the agency being taken over by Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror, Loki season 2 will likely establish the TVA's new status quo ahead of Deadpool 3.

At any rate, the idea that Mobius and the TVA might be some of the first characters Deadpool and Wolverine meet in connection with the MCU is very exciting. It makes perfect narrative sense beyond the pure entertainment value of putting Reynolds, Jackman, and Wilson together in the same movie. Here's hoping Loki season 2 offers more insight into the future of the TVA ahead of Deadpool 3 currently set to release in 2024.
