Out of the Blue is the seventh studio album by ELO, released in October 1977.
Written and produced by ELO frontman Jeff Lynne, the double album is among the most commercially successful records in the group’s history, selling about 10 million copies worldwide. It is also their most critically acclaimed work, garnering inclusion in such lists as 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
The album includes hits like “Mr. Blue Sky” and “Turn to Stone”.
The album was reissued again in February 2007 and included three additional songs, “Wild West Hero” this time with a different bridge, “The Quick and the Daft”, and “Latitude 88 North”.
