This is one of the few instances where I wish Amazon used a 10 star rating method instead of 5. 5 stars is too little to rate this beautiful film.I'll admit, I went into the theater to watch this film with no foresight on the actual story. I knew it was based on a true story but that's as far as my insight was as I was experiencing a "tragedy" of my own in my personal life when this tragic event occurred in real time in 2013. So I didn't know the outcome. This movie has a spectacular cast (I mean, Josh Brolin, Jeff Bridges, Jennifer Connelly..they're truly beyond amazing!) but they're only part of the magic of this film and the story behind it. You truly get a captivating sense of what Wildland Firefighters (and ALL Firefighters) go through and this movie helped capture that - as well as giving us a touch of the personal lives of those who were involved.The movie starts off slightly slow but it's not in any way deterring. Plenty of funny moments, surreal moments and, of course, tearful moments! A great homage to those who gave their lives (and will do so) and are truly heroes! Just make sure you have tissues!

Can’t help but wonder if this movie would’ve done better in the theater with a different and better name like……”Granite Mountain Hotshots.” Dumb idea naming it this by the producers. This movie deserved to be a box office hit and a story that deserves to be told. I’m not a teary eyed type of person, but the ending that I knew was coming from the real world story, still made me tear up. Actually started to tear up when they made the now famous human pyramid picture in front of the special tree they saved. I suggest watching with a tissue box handy.
