John finds Bo and Nora in Bo's office, and after chatting a bit about Matthew, John asks them to close Mitch's stabbing case. Just then, Natalie appears and says that John didn't stab Mitch, like Mitch is claiming, and Nora asks Natalie to give her a statement - since she hasn't yet. They are interrupted when Bo gets a call from Fish, who's asking if Rex is allowed into Mitch's room, to which Bo gives the go-ahead, then gets back to the issue with Mitch's case. After Natalie panics about Mitch getting off free, and going after John, Bo and Nora agree to close Mitch's case. John and Natalie leave, and Bo and Nora agree that there's more to this case than John and Natalie are willing to admit. They decide to do everything in their power to make sure Mitch pays then Nora wonders why Natalie didn't lash out at her for breaking Clint's heart, wondering why Clint is waiting to reveal their break-up. Nora reminds Bo that Clint is out for their blood.

Outside Bo's office, John urges Natalie to stick to their story.

Just as Mitch hangs up with Dorian, demanding that she fire Bo, Rex appears, and Mitch says, "Hello Son, I've been expecting you." No matter how much Rex demands that Mitch stay away from Natalie and the rest of his family, Mitch orders that Rex, and his unborn baby, will join him to carry out his message! Mitch brings up Stacy and Gigi and reminds Rex how Gigi has chosen a lowlife drug addict over him then says, "You're better off without her." Rex snaps and warns for Mitch to stay away from his family, or he'll show him just how much like him he really is! Fish comes in and orders Rex out, as Mitch hollers after Rex to bring the family next time.

Outside Mitch's room, while Fish is making sure Rex is all right, he slips that Mitch upset Stacy too - when she came to visit him!

Noelle brings Shane to the cabin to visit Gigi, who is excited to see him. "If you miss me so much, come home," Shane says, leading Gigi to try to explain the reason behind her getaway. After Shane angrily rushes off to snowboard, Gigi admits to Noelle that though she thought she'd always want to be with Rex, she now wants Schuyler! Gigi feels guilty, but Noelle says she needs to take the time to really find out if this is the choice she truly wants. Just as Noelle informs Gigi that Roxy kicked Schuyler out, Shane rejoins them, tells Gigi he loves her then waits for Noelle in the car, who reminds Gigi that she's a great mom - and now she deserves the chance to be a happy woman.

When Rachel arrives in her office, she finds Schuyler naked, saying Roxy kicked him out! Over talk of the whole Gigi situation, Rachel again tells him that he can't start a relationship with Gigi based on a lie. Schuyler agrees to tell Gigi the truth - soon - but he refuses to blow his chance of having a life with Gigi now. "Maybe Rex is supposed to be with Stacy," Schuyler says. "Maybe I'm supposed to be with Gigi." Schuyler admits he can live with the guilt, as long as he gives a relationship with Gigi a try.

Once Rachel leaves, Schuyler gets a call from Gigi and accepts her invitation to spend New Year's Eve with her.

At the loft, Kim gets a call from Clint, asking her to come over and help him with some things surrounding his divorce. However, before Kim leaves, Stacy admits to her that Mitch wants her baby. Both worry what'll happen if Mitch finds out the baby isn't Rex's then Kim suggests that Stacy agree to give Mitch the baby - only after Mitch delivers Rex to her! Stacy sadly talks about feeling her baby growing inside her, and says she's never had anything that was hers, so Kim reminds Stacy that she has the power - the baby - and the ability to string Mitch along until she decides what to do. Kim then rushes off to meet Clint.

Shortly after, Rex shows up and starts ranting at Stacy for going to see Mitch. After Stacy claims she only went to tell him to stay away from her and her baby, Rex is shocked that she dared to confront Mitch then goes to Stacy's side, as she boasts about feeling the baby kick. Rex puts his hand on Stacy's belly and agrees that it's amazing. Suddenly, Mitch calls and demands that Stacy give him an answer - and Stacy tells him no! Once she hangs up, Stacy explains to Rex that it was a wrong number, as Mitch seethes from the other end of the phone, "Wrong answer."

Dorian goes to the Buchanan mansion and shows Clint a photo of Nora and Bo kissing, one that was sent anonymously. Though Clint thinks she's there to gloat, Dorian claims she doesn't want a scandal, now that she's mayor, and wonders what she'll say at the Mayoral Ball - when she planned to endorse Bo fully! "What am I going to do now?" Dorian asks, and Clint replies, "I would fire Bo." Dorian suggests that Clint is just bitter but then agrees to fire Bo tonight - if she doesn't get any backlash from Buchanan Enterprises. Clint promises he'll be there to see her announcement through! After Dorian leaves, Kim arrives to help Clint with his legal issues, but Clint brushes the legalities aside, asks her to be his date for the Mayoral Ball then orders Nigel to bring the car around saying, "We’re going shopping!"

Dorian shows up at the station and hands out invitations to the Mayoral Ball to Bo and Nora - and the guests of their choice - as well as to John and Natalie. Nora looks uncomfortable and replies, "Clint doesn't really like these things." Dorian orders Nora, Bo and John to be there then urges Natalie to come as well, promising her that she'll do everything she can to make sure Mitch stays locked up. Finally, everyone reluctantly agrees to go, leaving Dorian to say, "Be on time… It's going to be a big night!" After Dorian leaves, Natalie wishes John a Happy New Year with Marty then Bo and Nora sneak a kiss in his office, anticipating the New Year ahead.

Later, after Clint brings Kim back to the loft, with a ton of new clothes for future occasions, he reminds her that he'll pick her up at 8:00 PM, leaving Kim giddy!

Before she leaves the station, Dorian calls Clint to make sure their plan is still a go - and Clint says it is, as Dorian assures him that Bo will be attending the Mayoral Ball!
