Good news, Time Warner Cable subscribers. Now you can watch some of your favorite shows on your computer.

The cable giant this week added a selection of free and subscription on-demand content to the PC and Mac versions of its TWC TV app. Thanks to the new feature, Time Warner subscribers will be able to watch more than 4,000 on-demand TV shows and movies from 91 providers for no additional cost, Jeff Simmermon, director of digital communications for Time Warner Cable, wrote in a blog post Thursday.

Some on-demand programming from premium networks like HBO will be available, he added. You will, of course, need a subscription to HBO to view this content.

On TWCTV.com, you'll be able to browse content with full color box art by network, see an A-Z listing of titles, or search the on-demand catalog by title. There's also a featured category, which will provide easy access to new titles and seasonal content. When watching, you can pause, fast-forward, and rewind.

To take advantage of all the new content on TWCTV.com, users will need Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher for Windows, while Firefox 4, Safari 5, or Chrome 24 is required for Windows or Mac. The Microsoft Silverlight Plugin (version 5.0 or higher) is also required.

The move comes after the cable giant this past December launched on-demand content for its TWC TV iPad app. Live TV streaming is also available via Android as well as the iPhone and iPad.

At CES last month, TWC announced a deal with Roku to bring the TWC TV app to the online streaming company's entertainment platform. It marked the first time TWC made its cable lineup accessible via a third party.
