I'm staying at the Omni just across from the Gaslamp District next week. Is there overnight parking available nearby? The hotel charges $35 a night!

There are other garages, not much cheaper and no in and out privileges. $35 isn't a bad price in a major US city. I pay more in other cities.

Sorry scott but the SAME hotel that the Omni uses for its valet parking is right across the street and much less expensive for overnight parking ($12-$15) than the Omni's rate! It is true that there is no in and out privileges but when we stay in the gaslamp overnight that is where we park.

It is directly across from the Omni. It's called the 6th Ave Parkade at 6th and K.

Last time we were there they only took cash.

It does depend on when you go. If you have the misfortune to be there during a Padres game, I think it is $20 and the no in and out, makes it a hassle for me.

If you use the parkade twice in a day, as a visitor might, the $24-$30 for the day isn't much of a bargain.

No, of course it doesn't make sense to go in and out at all! It only makes sense to park over night. It would be really easy to arrange that for some of the nights. Yes, IF the Padres are playing the price will go up.

BTW the valet parking guys for the Omni will readily point out this garage to you. It is not a secret.
