We spent four days at this hotel, our first time to stay at an Omni hotel. Property is gorgeous, rooms are spacious (we got the premium King room) and it had a great view of the marina.
The staff are very friendly, courteous, gracious, accommodating and eager to please. They really make every effort to make you feel welcome and comfortable.
That said we encountered some issues which kept me from rating this hotel as excellent.
After checking in I noticed that I had not received my prepaid vouchers that a guest may order online at the time of booking. When I went to the front desk the next morning they seemed confused and concerned that I said I didn't receive them. After some discussion back and forth they were finally produced.
The following morning in the bathroom, I manage to cut my finger on the spigot of the faucet. There was lots of corrosion and the chrome had curled up, was very sharp and I caught my finger on it. I reported the problem to the front desk. Maintenance corrected some of the corrosion issue under the faucet handles but the sharp area was still there on the spigot. And to make matters worse the earlier repair had now caused a leak around the cold faucet handle. Again I reported the problem and asked for the both the sharpness and leak be repaired. Three days later it still hadn't been repaired when we checked out and we had to leave towels on the floor for the leak. To be fair they asked if we wanted to change rooms and honestly after unpacking the last thing we want to do is pack up and move.
On the second day of our stay the housekeeper wished to clean our room just as we were changing so we asked her to return in 10 minutes. When the room wasn't cleaned by 2 PM we called housekeeping and was assured it would be. When we returned to our room to prepare for dinner it still wasn't clean. So as we went down to dinner my wife went to the front desk to request our room be cleaned. A shame a guest must keep reminding them.
We had family join us for Thanksgiving dinner in McCormick Schmidts restaurant in the hotel. None of us wanted to cook dinner so we enjoyed a non-traditional meal of crab legs and my daughter and I ordered steaks. Unfortunately my prime rib eye steak arrived medium instead of medium rare. So although my meal was returned and prepared properly, I ended up eating alone while everyone sat and watched me eat. Unfortunate given it was Thanksgiving. To be fair, they took my steak off the bill.
Finally, should you wish to stay at this hotel be advised that apparently on Friday and Saturday evenings, the train decides to park at the base of the hotel and jockey back and forth coupling and uncoupling car carriers. First the idling of the giant diesel engines set our room to vibrating even though we were on the 17th floor. Second the back and forth movement of the train with the cars banging into each other makes for a less than quiet evening in your room.
Although there was supposed to be a pool side bar for guests to order drinks and snacks from, apparently over the holiday they were unable to staff it. So as a guest we couldn't order anything. And given the pool is on the 6th floor and there aren't any house phones to call someone when thirsty or hungry you must go a running.
Since my family joined us at this hotel for Thanksgiving we had to look for a place that all of us could gather together. The lobby is tiny and too open, the bar is small and not setup for a group so we went in search of a place to sit together and have a conversation. Unfortunately the only place we could locate was on the 6th floor off the pool area. No way to order cocktails or anything else. Odd this place can't accommodate family groups.
As I said, the devils in the details and unfortunately a nice property, a wonderful staff, a great location and nice view rooms doesn't necessarily offset the inconveniences that a guest is subjected to at this property. The trains alone would preclude us from staying again.

What a delightful place to visit. From the door staff to Ava at the concierge and all the wonderful people in between we had such a wonderful time. The view from the room was magical and the room was very quiet. I especially enjoyed swimming in the heated pool on the sixth floor! my support dog was greeted and treated like one of the family. I think you so much ! we will be back…

Stay at the Omni as part of a CAA tour. Several perks given as part of the package including free WiFi and breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Two staff, Amanda and Jay, were especially helpful. Room was very comfortable with king sized bed. One odd thing was the louvres in the bathroom wall which allowed the light, sounds and smell associated with a bathroom to enter the main room. Breakfast was excellent. Service was quick and efficient.

Only stayed here one night, which happened to be the last night of Comicon. It was quite crowded, but also very entertaining to see the area decorated, and the costumes. The hotel overall is very nice. They charge an arm and a leg for parking, so we parked in the city parking structure and walked over to the hotel, and saved a bit of cash. Its in a great location, so you can walk to restaurants, bars and stores. Its a beautiful hotel, and the pool is also nice, as is the gym. Im not sure if all rooms have a view, but ours looked out over the bay.

Room tip: Request a room with a view, and a higher floor so your view is unobstructed.

Great staff. FYI though trains run along the west side so its noisy at night and the early morning. Shower and water from adjacent rooms can be heard- not well soundproofed. Plus they put plantation shutters in the bathroom that open to the sleep area- what were they thinking???
