Oscar-winning and 2021 Emmy-nominated actress Olivia Colman feels lucky to have her husband and "best friend" Ed Sinclair by her side.

The Crown star, who is nominated in the Best Actress in a Drama category at this year's Emmy Awards, once gushed about first meeting Ed, an actor and writer, while both were rehearsing for a production of Table Manners at Cambridge.

"It sounds really odd, but I did fall in love with him at first sight," Olivia reportedly recalled to The Telegraph. "When he walked into the room, I just went, ‘That’s him!’ Mind you, I suppose if he hadn’t wanted me, then I might have gone, ‘That’s him!’ at someone else a week later."

She also told The Telegraph that she considers herself very fortunate to have crossed paths with Ed when she did.

"We met when we had nothing and we loved each other then. So we were all right."

She added, "We were 20 and he was also an actor. If you meet at that age, then you're fine. For me it was thunderbolts straight away."

Though not much is known about their wedding day, Olivia and Ed tied the knot in 2001. The couple have three children together but prefer to keep their kids totally out of the spotlight.

While Olivia went on to primarily pursue acting, The Sun reports that Ed first studied law at Cambridge and went on to focus on writing. In 2005, he acted in the British TV Series Look Around You. According to Ed's IMDB page, he is listed as creator and producer of the TV series Screenshot and writer and executive producer of the mini series Landscapers.
