10 years ago this was one of the best dating apps out there, but since then it's seriously gone downhill. I've gotten well over 400+ likes in just a couple of months and 95% of them are all from overseas people in Nigeria, Philippines, etc. There's literally ZERO settings that allow you to block people of the nationality, age, race, etc. so my inbox gets flooded with 15+ likes a day. Also, when you do talk to these overseas people it's 95%++ of the time one way conversations that die out fast. They've also increased the cost of the premium to $45/month which is insane. You don't need premium on this website as a dude because you're just flooded with more likes than you can realistically manage.

I would say if you get on these dating sites it's a total waste of time, the people you introduce yourself to never reply. I'd say it's all about the money. I'm sure if you pay for membership you may have a chance to talk to someone else but I'm not paying for something they advertise for free.

It needs to be seriously investigated. There is no profile vetting, so scammers run rampant. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been asked for money. I’ve never been asked for cash or gifts on EasyFling4You since it’s a legit dating site. I should haven’t subscribed for OkCupid, but I was curious. As a result I just wasted money for the paid subscription. I haven’t met any genuine woman on OKCupid. But my subscription was renewed against my consent at a much increased rate.

They claim that they’re a free site. They do just like the rest who claim the same thing. Then after drawing you in taking your information and time, you find out that you have to pay to message and or see your likes. This is a gimmick. I don’t appreciate it. It could have been straightforward but no. Everything is a scam nowadays.

Yesterday I created an account with Okcupid. My matches were being created and was bumped out, so I signed back in and was informed I was banned from their site. I have never done anything wrong on their site. I didn’t even get to go into my account. I supplied my number and email then automatically was banned. I even uploaded my photos to the site. When I emailed the company asking why they stated it was for the safety of the community. When I asked what the complaint was they pretty much told me due to privacy I could not know why! This site should be shut down and banned from being allowed to have the site up.

This site claims to have good algorithms but they stink. I got some men in the first few days but now I have zero people in the “stacks”. They must not have enough members. You also can’t filter people based on what they are looking for, you can say “long term dating” but if the peopke also say “hookups” you still see them. About 50% are looking for hookups… The “Cupid’s picks” are supposed to be better matches for you and refresh daily. I have had the same two men for 4 days who are not even the ethnicity that I’ve stated I’m looking for. I have sent 3 emails asking for help and have had ZERO response.

Only messaged like ten female profiles in my area, got banned for no reason. In the past I've learned how rude, mean and hostile female profiles are. Females can lie and then you're gone. Also Okcupid is really bad with privacy using your phone number to login in.

A lot of people recommended this site, when I first signed up I got a lot of likes, of course you have to pay to see who they are. So I paid the lowest price in Canadian dollars and what happens? All of them live outside of my location, turns out you have to keep paying just for the people outside of you're location can't like you. And so many people don't even bother uploading a photo, they always just have 1 picture of flowers or their pet, so they are telling me they are flowers or an animal? Why is there no rule for dating sites to you HAVE to upload pictures of YOU or they delete your account. I get a like I go and check and it's a blurry random Google Image. I know it's not just OKCupid that does this but they are the only ones to make it so you have to keep paying to only get likes in your location, the minute you stop you get flooded with likes mostly in the Philippines.

I paid 45 dollars to find out that 95% of my likes are coming from possibly fake profiles from all over the world. Even if they're not fake I'm sick of "swiping left" on people because they live 8000 miles away. Bumble allows you to pay for a day pass to check out your likes which is nice and cheap and everyone is within your preset geographical specifications. OkC doesn't have a day pass. What they do have are hundreds of profiles that like your profile and when you finally give in and pay for the month because you have 112 likes you find out that the VAST majority of these people aren't even within driving distance. I will be deleting my account when my subscription is up.

OkCupid.com author review by Mark Brooks

OKCupid.com is a free site that offers members the ability to upgrade their experience by subscribing to a premium membership. Created in 2004, the site serves millions of members through a unique profile format and optional question and answer section.

    • Unique profile format: Many dating sites only ask members to tell a little bit about themselves and who they are looking for. OKCupid makes it easier to learn more about prospective dates through open ended profile questions including six things you can't live without, what you are good at, what you are doing with your life, what you like to do on a friday night and more.

    • Thousands of optional questions: OKCupid has a unique feature that allows you to answer as many or as few multiple questions on topics ranging from values and relationship goals to personal hygiene and basic math skills. You can then compare your answers to those of people whose profiles you are viewing.

    • Advanced search algorithm: Users can choose both physical and value-based attributes to search for, improving the quality of the matches they find. Some criteria are only available via upgraded membership.

    • Anonymous email network: Users can email potential matches through OKCupid.com's own messaging service, allowing them to keep their identities and contact info private until they are ready to share it.

    • Profiles are screened before being posted: OKCupid.com staff screens profiles and photos before posting to ensure only appropriate information makes it onto the site.
