National Academy of Sports (NAS) Scholarship Program

One example of an athletic scholarship program is the one offered by the National Academy of Sports (NAS). It is open for young Filipinos who aspire to be the next representatives of the country in the Olympics, Asian Games, or SEA Games1. 

Qualified student-athletes will be trained in NAS focus sports such as gymnastics, athletics, aquatics, table tennis, weightlifting, taekwondo, and judo.

  • Qualifications:
  1. Final Grade of 85% in Science and Mathematics. If the student’s grade is below 85%, the student may still be qualified if he/she belongs to the top 10% of the class
  2. A Filipino citizen with no pending or approved application as an immigrant to any foreign country

  2. Not older than 14 years old
  3. Grade 6 pupil at the time of application

A. National Government Scholarship Programs

1. DOST-SEI (Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute) Undergraduate Scholarships.

Types of DOST-SEI undergraduate scholarship:

  1. Republic Act 7687 “Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994”.
  • Description: This scholarship provides a monthly stipend to Filipino students whose families’ socioeconomic status is within the scholarship’s indicators. Students must pursue priority fields in science, engineering, and mathematics.
  • Qualifications:
  1. Natural-born Filipino citizen whose family’s socio-economic status belongs to scholarship’s indicators
  2. STEM strand student OR a member of the top five (5%) of the Non-STEM strand graduating class
  3. A resident of the municipality as attested by the barangay
  4. Of good moral character and in good health
  5. Must not have earned any undergraduate units yet
  6. Must not have taken any previous DOST-SEI examinations
  7. S&T scholarship examination passer
  • Requirements:
  1. Personal Information (Form A) and Household Information Questionnaire (Form B)

2. DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program (NSDB or NSTA Scholarship under RA No. 2067)

  • Description: A program that provides a scholarship for students with high aptitude in science and mathematics. Qualified students must pursue DOST-SEI undergraduate scholarship priority programs.
  • Qualifications:
  1. Natural-born Filipino citizen
  2. STEM student of the graduating class OR a member of the top five percent (5%) of Non-STEM graduating class
  3. A resident of the municipality as attested by the barangay
  4. Of good moral character and in good health
  5. Must not have earned any undergraduate units yet
  6. Must not have taken any previous DOST-SEI undergraduate examination
  7. S&T scholarship examination passer
  • Requirements: DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship has the same list of requirements as the Republic Act 7687 scholarship program (see the previous section).
  • Benefits: DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship benefits are the same as the  Republic Act 7687 scholarship benefits.

How To apply for DOST-SEI undergraduate scholarship program

Step 1: Check if you’re eligible for the scholarship program. Determine whether your desired degree program is a priority program of the DOST-SEI undergraduate scholarship.

Step 2: Register online: Use this link to apply online.

Step 3: Fill out the application forms and upload documentary requirements. See the previous section for the list of required documents. Upload them using the link from Step 2.

Step 4: Select a test center. You will be asked by the system to select your test center. Here is a list of contact information of different DOST Regional Offices.

Step 5: Wait for the test permit. You will receive your test permit at the email address you used to register with the online system one (1) month before the examination.

2. CHED (Commission on Higher Education) Scholarship

  • Description: The Commission on Higher Education, under RA 7722, provides scholarships to qualified students
  • Qualifications:
  1. Graduating Filipino high school student with a GWA (General Weighted Average) of at least 90%
  2. Combined Parents’ Annual Gross Income not exceeding Php 400,000
  • Requirements:
  1. Certified True Copy of Birth Certificate
  2. High School Report Card (for incoming freshmen) or Certified True Copy of Grade 11 and 1st Semester Grade 11 grades (for graduating high school students).
  3. Any of the following documents: Accomplished Application Form (Click this for sample application form); Parents’ Income Tax Return (latest); Certificate of Tax Exemption from BIR; Certificate of Indigency; Case Report from DSWD; or Copy of contract or proof of income (for children of OFWs)
  • Benefits:
  1. For students who are enrolling in a State University College: Stipend of Php 40,000 per year for full SSP or a stipend of Php 20,000 per year for half SSP
  2. For students who are enrolling in a Private Higher Education Institution: Tuition and other school fees worth Php 20,000 per year and stipend worth Php 40,000 per year (full PESFA) or tuition and other school fees worth Php 10,000 per year and stipend worth Php 20,000 per year (half PESFA)
  • How to apply for CHED Scholarship Program.

Step 1: Prepare documentary requirements. Refer to the “Requirements” section above for the complete list of documentary requirements.

Step 2: Submit your application. You may submit your documentary requirements to the CHED Regional Office (CHEDRO) where the school you graduated from is based. You may also submit your requirements through courier.

Step 3: Wait for the result. If you pass the application process, CHEDRO will send you a Notice of Award (NOA) or send your HEI a notice.

Step 4: Accept the NOA. Affix your signature on the return slip and submit it to the concerned CHEDRO.

As of May 2021, the application for the 2021 CHED Scholarship is not yet open. You can refer to their official site for updates. 

3. OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration) Education for Development Scholarship (EDSP)

  • Description: Offered to dependents of OWWA members who will pursue a 4-5 year undergraduate program in any university.
  • Qualifications:

For incoming freshmen.

  1. The member-OFW must be an active member of OWWA at the time of application
  2. The applicant must be single but not older than 21 years old
  3. With an average grade of 80% or higher and belonging to the top 20% of the graduating class
  4. Must be one of the top 400 passers of the DOST qualifying examination

For enrolled college students.

  1. Single and not older than 30 years old
  2. A GWA (General Weighted Average) of 85% in all academic and non-academic subjects (attended in full load) during the last school year
  • Requirements:
  1. EDSP Application form
  2. 2 copies of a recent 2” x 2” photo
  3. PSA Birth Certificate
  4. Form 137 (for incoming freshmen) OR Transcript of Records or Certificate of Grades (for those already enrolled in college)
  5. Certification from the Principal proving the applicant reached a GWA of 80% and belongs to the top 20% of the graduating class
  • Benefits: Stipend of Php 60,000 per year.
  • How to apply for OWWA EDSP.

Step 1: Pass the DOST-SEI qualifying examination. You must be one of the top 400 passers of the DOST qualifying examination to be qualified for the OWWA EDSP.

Step 2: Secure the requirements stated above. Once you’ve decided to apply for the OWWA scholarship, start securing these requirements and prepare.  

Step 3: Submit your requirements to the nearest OWWA office.

4. OWWA Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)

  • Description: Open for qualified children or siblings of unmarried OWWA members
  • Qualifications:

For children/siblings of OWWA members:

  1. At least 85% GWA with no failing grade in any subject
  2. Annual family income not exceeding 2,400 US dollars or its equivalent
  3. Graduating grade 12 student
  4. Single and is not more than 21 years old

For former OFWs:

  1. Must be 45 years old upon application
  2. High School graduate with a GWA not lower than 80% and has no failing grade
  3. Must not have taken more than two years of an undergraduate course

  1. Application Form

Step 1: Choose an SM Foundation Partner School. As of the school year 2021 – 2022, here’s the official list of partner schools of SM Foundation’s college scholarship program

Step 2: Apply online. Use this link for SMFI online application.

Step 3: Upload required documents using the link from Step 1.

Step 4: Wait to be assessed and evaluated. After you submit the required documents, SMFI will assess your application. After a couple of days, you will receive an email notification to let you know whether you are qualified to take the exam or if your application has been denied.

Step 5: Take the online exam. You will receive via email the details of the exam including the schedule. The exam result will be sent also via email.

Step 6: Prepare for an interview. If you pass the exam, you will be interviewed by the SMFI via Google Meet. Details of the interview and result will be sent via email.

Step 7: Prepare for a random virtual home visit. If you pass the interview, prepare for virtual home visits by the SMFI via Google Meet.

Step 8: Confirm your school and degree program. If you pass the exam and the interview, you will be required to confirm your school and degree program via email.

Step 9: Attend the orientation and contract signing. Wait for the email notification about the details of the orientation and contract signing.

2. Megaworld Foundation Scholarship

  • Description: Just like SM, the real-estate giant Megaworld Corporation also gives back to the community through scholarships. From 2007 to 2018 alone, the Megaworld Foundation, Inc. provided over 5,000 scholarship grants to deserving students. This scholarship program gives qualified students a monthly allowance as well as career opportunities after graduation.
  • Qualifications:

For incoming freshmen.

  1. Must belong to the upper 10% of the graduating class
  2. Must have passed the entrance exam of a Megaworld Foundation Partner School
  3. Must have an average of 85% and a minimum grade of 80% in all subjects

For enrolled college students.

  1. Must have a GPA (Grade Point Average) of at least 85% and a minimum grade of 80% in all subjects
  2. Must be enrolled with full load number of units

The foundation funds the students’ education through the Scholars for Better Communities program, while the partner schools take care of the selection of the scholars and the monitoring of their subsequent academic performances.
  • Qualifications:
  1. Graduating Grade 12 student who will be taking any of the following degree programs: Accountancy/Accounting Information System/Accounting Information Technology; Internal Auditing; Marketing; Industrial Engineering; Management Engineering; Applied Mathematics; Business Analytics/Statistics; Data Science; Computer Science/Technology; Information Systems/Technology

Step 3: Validate your data indicated in the application form. Security Bank Foundation will reach you through a phone call or email for you to validate your data.

Step 4: Prepare for an online interview. If you pass the first level of application (Steps 1 to 3) you will be interviewed by Security Bank Foundation.

Step 5: Wait for the result. If you passed the application process, you will be notified through your active contact information stated in your application form.

Step 6: Sign the contract. To confirm your qualification, you must sign their scholarship contract.

4. Aboitiz Scholarship Program

  • Description: Since 2001, Aboitiz Foundation has helped financially challenged students reach their dreams through its own scholarship program. To qualify, scholars must pursue degree programs in data science, digital transformation, engineering, information technology, sales, e-commerce, agriculture, or nutrition.
  • Qualifications:
  1. Incoming freshmen pursuing any degree identified by the foundation
  2. GWA of 88% and no failing grade in all subjects
  3. Does not have a record of any disciplinary action
  • Requirements:
  1. Aboitiz Scholarship Program Application

Step 2: Prepare for a panel interview. Applicants will also be screened through a panel interview.

Step 3: Wait for the result. You will be notified via email if you pass the selection process.

5. Globe Acad-Arena Merit Esports Scholarship (GAMES) Competitive and Leadership Category

  • Description: This scholarship is the first-ever Philippine merit scholarship program for Filipino Esports students and gamers.
  • Qualifications:
  1. Natural-born Filipino citizen who is not more than 28 years old and must not be in graduating status.

1. DA-ATI Scholarship Programs

The Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute is offering degree and non-degree programs2 for undergraduate students, government employees, and out-of-school youths.

Deserving high school graduates from impoverished farming and fishing families can pursue a more financially rewarding career in agriculture by being part of the Youth in Agriculture and Fisheries Program (YAFP). Qualified students can use the scholarship to obtain an agriculture-related degree from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), private colleges, and universities approved by the ATI Capability Building Program Committee.

If you’re a permanent government employee of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), or Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), you can also consider taking advantage of the DA-ATI’s 18-month postgraduate scholarship. This program will earn you a Master in Public Management major in Rural Development (MPM-RD) degree, giving you the qualification needed to take the role of a manager who is more adept at dealing with the rural development sector.

Out-of-school youths and high school graduates who don’t have time to commit to a degree program can also take short-term non-degree programs for upskilling purposes.

The first one is the two-year Youth Empowerment Through a Sustainable Program (YESP) which will help breed a new generation of farmers by equipping students with knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and agriculture technology. There’s also the Young Filipino Farmers Training Program in Japan (YFTTPJ) where participants with at least two years of farming experience will learn technical knowledge and skills in agricultural and cooperative management and be exposed to Japanese work culture and values.

2. DA-BAR Degree Scholarship Program

If you’re into research and development, you can join the Degree Scholarship Program (DSP) of the Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR)3.

Designed to help enrich the fields of agriculture and fisheries in the country, this merit-based scholarship grant will enable you to study in one of the premier universities considered as Centers of Excellence. These include the University of the Philippines, De La Salle University, Ateneo de Manila University, Central Luzon State University, Visayas State University, University of Southern Mindanao, and Mindanao State University.

Should you become a scholar, you’ll be given financial assistance to help you complete your thesis/dissertation. After all, the goal of this program is to produce experts who can develop agriculture technologies through applied research.

3. DOST-PCAARRD Human Resource Development Program

The Department of Science and Technology’s Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) is offering scholarships4 to enhance the competency of those working for government agencies that are focused on agriculture.

If you’re a permanent government employee in any of the member agencies under NAARRDN (National Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research and Development Network), you can apply for one of the following programs:

  • Graduate Research and Education Assistantship for Technology (GREAT) Program – provides technical and financial support to help graduate students complete their research/thesis. Benefits include tuition (and other school fees), transportation allowance, thesis/dissertation budget of up to Php 100,000, and graduation fees.
  • Thesis/Dissertation Assistance – is financial support given to Master’s and Ph.D. students from NAARRDN-member institutions and non-DOST-PCAARRD scholars. A budget of up to Php 100,000 is up for grabs to finance your thesis/dissertation, provided the research conducted targets one of DOST-PCAARRD’s priority areas.
  • Re-Entry Grant for Returning Scholars – is a program that enables newly graduated DOST-PCAARRD scholars returning to their respective agencies to pursue a research and development project related to their thesis/dissertation. Financial support of up to Php 250,000 and Php 150,000 is available for Ph.D. and Master’s scholars, respectively.

4. SEARCA’s Graduate Study Program

The SEARCA (Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study in Agriculture) offers full MS and Ph.D. scholarships to citizens of SEAMEO member countries, including the Philippines. As of this writing, a total of 1,736 full post-graduate scholarships have been granted to scholars who pursued advanced studies in agriculture, forestry, and related sciences5.

Before you can apply for this scholarship, you must first meet the following qualification requirements:

  • Must be a regular employee of a government agency or an academic/research institution;
  • Must not be older than 35 (if you’re taking a Master’s Degree) or 40 (if you’re taking a Ph.D.) at the time of application;
  • Must be pursuing a degree in agriculture, forestry, or related sciences;
  • The proposed thesis research should focus on SEARCA’s theme (Accelerating Transformation Through Agricultural Innovation) with priority areas in Agri-Business Models for Increased Productivity and Income, Sustainable Farming Systems and Natural Resource Management, Food and Nutrition Security, Transformational Leadership for Agricultural and Rural Development (ARD), Gender and Youth Engagement in ARD, Enhanced ARD towards Climate Resilience, EcoHealth/One Health Applications to ARD.

If qualified, scholars can pursue their studies at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in Los Baños, Laguna, or other partner institutions all over Southeast Asia.

The scholarship will cover the student’s tuition and other school fees; travel allowance; thesis/dissertation expenses; book and supplies allowance; health insurance; and stipend for food, lodging, and incidental expenses, among others.

5. Land Bank of the Philippines’ Gawad Patnubay Scholarship Program

The LANDBANK Gawad Patnubay (Gawad Pag-aaral Tungo sa Maunlad na Bayan) Scholarship Program was established to benefit not only the students but also the communities they belong to.

The scholarship provides financial assistance to underprivileged but deserving students who will pursue degrees related to agriculture and fisheries. By producing new breeds of thought leaders in agriculture, the scholarship program will indirectly support the agricultural sector and create sustainable food sources in rural areas.

The program is funded by LANDBANK itself and through the voluntary salary contribution of its employees6. In addition to the scholarship, the program also offers additional support to help new graduates transition to employment. This Education-to-Employment (E2E) component includes a 10-week internship program which is divided into 3 weeks of lectures, seminars, and personality and professional development activities and another 7 weeks of fieldwork in LANDBANK or in other partner institutions.

To qualify, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen;
  • Must not be a beneficiary of another existing scholarship program;
  • Must have passed the entrance exam or be currently enrolled in one of the 17 partner schools;
  • Must be taking up an agriculture-related course;
  • Preferably a dependent of an active member of one of the small farmer and fisher cooperatives currently being supported by LANDBANK or LCDFI, or of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs);
  • Must have an annual total family income that doesn’t exceed Php 300,000, as attested by BIR Income Tax Return (ITR), except in some cases like a household with six or more children and other exemptions to be determined by the selection committee;
  • Must have a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 2.5 or equivalent in each semester, with no grades lower than 3.0 or its equivalent in any subject.

6. BFAR (Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources) Fisheries Scholarship Program (FSP)

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) through the Fisheries Scholarship Program (FSP) is granting full college scholarships to qualified high school graduates taking up Bachelor of Science in Fisheries (BSF).

The scholarship program has three (3) components: (1) the FSP Fisheries Industry Leader Grant (FILG) for Senior high school graduates and graduating students with Honors,* (2) the Fisherfolk Children Educational Grant (FCEG) for Senior high school graduates and graduating students whose parents are registered municipal fisherfolk and (3) FSP Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (FSP-ICCs/IPs) for poor but deserving Alternative Learning System (ALS)/High School/Senior High School graduates/graduating students who are members of a particular tribe recognized by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP).

  • Qualifications:

For FSP-FILG:

  1. Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
  2. Any high school graduate or graduating student;
  3. Not more than 25 years old at the time of the examination, who has not earned any units in college;
  4. Who belongs to the TOP TEN of his/ her graduating class, duly certified by the school head/ principal;
  5. For high school graduate applicants who completed their high school under the old curriculum, the general weighted average (GWA) shall not be lower than 80%;
  6. For graduating students GWA of the last 3 immediate preceding semesters of his Senior High School in any Track shall not be lower than 80% or its equivalent
  7. Of good moral character as certified by the school head;
  8. Parent(s)/guardian or the applicant must be physically residing in the municipality of the region for at least six (6) months, where the slot of the scholarship program is allotted.

For FSP-FCEG:

  1. Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
  2. Any Senior high school graduate or graduating student whose parent(s) or guardian is a Registered Fisherfolk (Fish-R/Mangingisdang Juan);
  3. Not more than 25 years old at the time of the examination, who has not earned any units in college
  4. For high school graduate applicants who completed their high school under the old curriculum, the general weighted average (GWA) shall not be lower than 80%;
  5. For Senior High School students under the K12 curriculum, graduating students GWA of the last 3 immediate preceding semesters of his Senior High School in any Track shall not be lower than 80% or its equivalent

  7. Parent(s)/guardian or the applicant must be physically residing in the municipality of the Region for at least six (6) months, where the slot of the scholarship program is allotted;
  8. Parent(s)/guardian must be registered municipal fisherfolk duly certified by the Municipal Agricultural Officer (MAO) or the BFAR Regional Office in his/her area.

For FSP-ICCs/IPs:

  1. Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
  2. Any ALS/HS/SHS graduates/graduating students;
  3. Not more than 25 years old at the time of the examination, whether or not he has earned any units in college;
  4. Bonafide member of an ethnolinguistic group in his/her community duly recognized by the NCIP;
  5. For ALS/high school graduate applicants the general weighted average (GWA) shall not be lower than 80%;
  6. For graduating students under the Kto12 program, Grade 11 GWA shall not be lower than 80% or its equivalent;
  7. Of good moral character as certified by the School Head/Principal;

2. Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship

  • Description: The Japanese government, through its Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, also offers scholarship programs to qualified international students who want to study as undergraduate students in the Land of the Rising Sun. The Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship provides scholarship grants to foreign students selected on the recommendation of the Japanese Embassy, University, or Authority. Under this scholarship program is the Young Leaders’ Program (YLP) which aims to be the training ground for future Asian leaders. You may apply for this scholarship program if you want to earn an international diploma in one of the following fields:

  • Qualifications:
  1. Born on or after April 02, 1997
  2. Graduated from high school in March 2021
  3. Capable to learn and receive instruction in the Japanese language
  4. Must choose a field of study covered by the scholarship
  • Requirements:
  1. Application Form
  2. Copies of Transcript of Records and Certificate of Graduation
  3. Medical Certificate
  4. Recommendation letter from either a class teacher or principal of the last school attended
  5. Certificate of enrollment and Certificate of university enrollment qualification examination  (only for those enrolled in a university)
  6. Certificate of language proficiency

The application for the 2023 Japanese Government (MEXT/Monbukagakusho) scholarship program is now open7. The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan is currently accepting applications in the following scholarship categories: 

1. Undergraduate (5 years of study)

a. Fields of Study: Natural and Social Sciences

b. Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Under 25 years old
  • High School Graduate in good academic standing

2. Postgraduate Research: Master’s or Doctoral Course (2 – 5 years of study)

a. Fields of Study: Humanities, Natural and Social Sciences

b. Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Under 35 years old
  • College graduate with years of formal education not less than 6 years and in good academic standing
  • Feasible research proposal

3. Specialized Training College (3 years of study)

a. Fields of Study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information Communication and Networking Engineering, Materials Engineering, Architecture and Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering

b. Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Under 25 years old
  • High School Graduate in good academic standing

4. College of Technology (4 – 4.5 years of study)

a. Fields of Study: Technology, Personal Care and Nutrition, Education and Welfare, Business, Fashion and Home Economics, Culture, and General Education

b. Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Under 25 years old
  • High School Graduate in good academic standing

The application form and sample exams for the 2023 Japanese Government Scholarship can be accessed here. After submitting documentary requirements and application forms, screened applicants will have to take a qualifying exam. Successful exam takers will undergo an interview with the Scholarship Committee. Lastly, MEXT will make the final decision and release the list of successful applicants. 

The deadline for application for the 2023 Japanese Government Scholarship is on May 31, 2022. 

3. Fulbright Philippines Scholarship Program

  • Description: Fulbright provides scholarships for Filipinos who want to pursue masters or doctoral degrees in the United States. 
  • Qualifications:
  1. Filipino citizen
  2. Proficient in the English language
  3. Excellent academic performance in an undergraduate degree
  4. At least two years of professional work
  5. In good health
  6. Does not hold US dual citizenship
  7. The scholar must pursue the following fields of study:

4. European Union (EU) Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Scholarship

  • Description. Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters are high-level integrated study programs at the master’s level. The programs are designed and delivered by an international partnership of higher education institutions from different countries worldwide.
  • Qualification:
  1. Students at the Master’s level from any country worldwide may apply.
  2. You must have obtained a first higher education degree or demonstrate a recognized equivalent level of learning, according to national legislation and practices, in the degree awarding countries. You may also apply if you are in the final year of your first-degree studies and will graduate before the master’s program starts.

5. CADETPILOT.AERO Sponsored Cadet Pilot Programme

  • Description: Turn your dreams of being a professional pilot into reality with CADETPILOT.AERO Sponsored Cadet Pilot Programme. Around 100 qualified students will undergo a 52-week course in Prague in the Czech Republic

Step 1: Apply online. Access the CADETPILOT.AERO Online portal. Make sure to provide accurate and honest answers as applicants will be screened according to the details provided.

Step 2: Wait for the list of shortlisted applicants. You will receive notification from CADETPILOT.AERO through email or other communication channels whether you make it to the shortlist. Once you have been selected, you’ll proceed to the next phases of the application.

Step 3: Take the online test. Shortlisted applicants will take an online assessment in two stages. The first stage requires no payment from the applicants while the second stage costs $300  (around Php 15,000) per candidate. Note that only those applicants who will make it past the first stage will proceed to the second stage.

Step 4: Wait for the main selection day invitation. Once you pass the online assessment, you’ll receive an invitation to the main selection day which will be held in Manila in August 2022. 

Step 5: Perform the group activity exercise. During the selection day, candidates will be grouped and tasked to perform certain tasks which require teamwork and effective decision-making to accomplish.

Step 6: Get ready for the selection committee interview. Every candidate will undergo a 30-minute face-to-face interview with the selection committee.

  2. Once the pilot cadets are employed by the partner airlines, the cost of the scholarship will be reimbursed through salary deductions of about 20%. This deduction is free from any interest rate, hidden costs, and other unexpected fees.

  • Secure your requirements as early as possible. Some requirements take weeks or even months to process and any delay might affect your application process. Thus, it will give you an edge if you secure them early.

3. My parents can’t provide an Income Tax Return (ITR). What should I do?

Some documents are allowed by different scholarship programs as alternatives to ITR. Examples are the Certificate of Indigency and Certificate of Tax Exemption from BIR. It is helpful to refer to the application guidelines to determine these alternative documents.

4. Do I need to pass a college entrance exam first before applying for a scholarship program?

It depends on the guidelines of the scholarship you wish to apply for. However, scholarship programs such as DOST-SEI undergraduate scholarships and CHED scholarships allow you to send your application before passing a college entrance exam.
