EFSD / Novo Nordisk Foundation Future Leaders Award Programme

Application deadline: 18 March 2024

This award programme aims to Identify outstanding clinical and basic scientists in European diabetes research at a critical stage in their career. Support them in their transition to a tenured academic appointment in diabetes research in Europe and foster their development into the leaders of tomorrow.

EFSD and Sanofi European Diabetes Research Programme on Autoimmunity in Type 1 Diabetes

Application deadline: 2 May 2024

This programme on autoimmunity in type 1 diabetes is intended to stimulate and accelerate European research aimed at improving understanding of any aspect of autoimmunity in type 1 diabetes, its pathogenesis, screening and monitoring, its clinical course and its interventions. Grants are offered for basic and clinical studies.

EFSD / Boehringer Ingelheim European Research Programme on "Multi-System Challenges in Diabetes"

Application deadline: 27 May 2024

Programme to encourage innovative basic and clinical projects aimed at advancing current knowledge in the inter-organ crosstalk and related pathophysiology in diabetes, obesity and cardiometabolic disease as well as assessing the adaptation and impact of guidelines directed medical care in management of diabetes, obesity and cardiometabolic disease.

EFSD Albert Renold Travel Fellowship Programme

Application deadline: 17 June 2024

Fellowships to enable scientists and clinicians to travel and stay at other institutions in order to learn specific techniques or clinical skills required for the advancement of their diabetes research project and not available at their home institution.

EFSD and Japan Diabetes Society (JDS) Reciprocal Travel Research Fellowship Programme

Application deadline: 1 July 2024

Fellowship Programme to encourage collaborative research in the field of diabetes. Applications for Fellowships may be accepted from any single, non-profit institution or group of affiliated institutions from Europe, associated countries and from Japan.

Open Call for EASD Guideline Development Panel on Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) in Type 2 Diabetes

We invite applications from EASD members to join the Guideline Development Panel (GDP) for the upcoming guideline on CGM in type 2 diabetes

Join the GDP and engage in the complete guideline development process, from scoping the clinical questions to final review and potential future updates. This is a great opportunity for professional development, networking within the EASD community and a chance to impact the field of diabetes care.

Diabetes Community Pledge for the European Parliament Elections 2024

The European Diabetes Forum (EUDF) asks you to pledge your support for the 32 million people living with diabetes in the European Union and their families. Together, we can ensure people with diabetes in Europe live longer and more fulfilling lives, avoid preventable costs and strengthen the resilience and sustainability of health systems. 

The Diabetes Community Pledge has been developed by a broad coalition of organisations working in the field of diabetes and supporting people with diabetes ahead of the June 2024 European parliamentary elections.

The Pledge contains 15 concrete policy recommendations addressed to the European Union and to Member States to improve the lives of People with Diabetes and those at risk.

Diabetologia is the Journal of the EASD and publishes original clinical, translational and experimental research within the field of diabetes. We are interested in papers that convey new information or insight into any aspect of the condition, ranging from basic science to clinical applications.
