North Ridgeville schools promotes two long-time administrators to new positions

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio – North Ridgeville schools has filled an assistant superintendent and coordinator’s positions to begin their duties on August 1.

The Board of Education hired the two, David Pritt and Lee Armbruster, at a June 1 board meeting.

David Pritt will replace Keith Ahearn as assistant superintendent. Ahearn moved to a position as superintendent in the Fairview Park schools in April.

In what appears to be a direct climb to the top schools positions, Pritt has worked for the North Ridgeville schools for 22 years as director of curriculum and instruction. He also taught English and was an assistant principal at the middle school, as well as the principal at Lear North Elementary.

“It was a privilege being the director of curriculum and instruction and I am proud of the strides the district made academically,” Pritt said. “I look forward to the new tasks and challenges ahead and maintaining a positive culture and environment for our staff and students.”

Lee Armbruster is replacing Annie Hostetler, the former director of alternative education who was hired as the district’s human resource director in May. Now the position will expand and will be called the coordinator of community partnerships and educational opportunities.

Armbruster has a 13-year history in the North Ridgeville schools. She has been a seventh-grade teacher and assistant principal at the middle school, principal at Wilcox Elementary, principal of grades 5-6 at the Academic Center, and also for grades 5-8.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time being a principal, but the chance to become the coordinator of community partnerships and educational opportunities was truly exciting and interested me,” Armbruster said. “I look forward to developing innovative strategies to expand career and educational opportunities for our students.”

Board of Education President Frank Vacha commented on the two hires. “During his tenure at the North Ridgeville City Schools, Mr. Pritt has built a positive rapport with teachers and administrators and has demonstrated great leadership skills. In addition to her educational experience, Mrs. Armbruster has great connections with many business leaders in North Ridgeville.”

Schools Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio said, “Mr. Pritt’s work ethic, intelligence and innovation made him the right fit to be the assistant superintendent. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played an essential role with the development of the Ranger Restart plan. Mrs. Armbruster has an outstanding network of business professionals which will allow students to learn about educational and career opportunities.”
