North Fort Myers
Located in north-central Lee County north of the Caloosahatchee River across from the City of Fort Myers, North Fort Myers is one of the county’s most diverse communities, featuring urban commercial centers and residential areas, suburban neighborhoods and commercial corridors, and rural lands. Recognizing the diverse nature of the community, planning efforts seek to foster development that supports and promotes the unique nature of the surrounding area.
  • Lee Plan Goal 30 seeks to improve the community’s livability and economic vitality by promoting the redevelopment of its urban core, supporting the continued vitality of its suburban neighborhoods, and protecting its rural lands and natural resources.
  • Land Development Code (Section 33, Article VIII) addresses communitywide development standards including community design, mixed-use neighborhood centers, landscape standards, and natural resource protection.
