WPS Facility Master Plan community engagement opportunities

Mayberry 8th grader designs winning sticker for “I Voted” contest
Yamilet Salazar, an eighth grade student from Mayberry Magnet Middle School, created the winning design for Sedgwick County’s “I Voted” sticker contest.

New orientation process for middle and high schools for 24-25 school year
WPS will welcome middle and high school students who are new to their school during a half-day orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024.

Video: High school CTE classes led to job for North High grad
North High grad Emily Dilbeck excelled in automotive CTE classes while in high school and it's led to a post-graduation job at Mel Hambelton Ford's Quick Lane auto repair shop.

Six WPS schools recommended for closure to help close budget gap
The Wichita Board of Education heard a recommendation to close six schools at the end of the school year in Phase 2 budget reductions during its February 12, 2024 meeting. The recommendation is pending final BOE approval on March 4.

Attention Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors: If you are interested in representing your class as a Class Officer or Student Body Officer for the 2024-25 school year petitions are now available. See Mr. Redus (A303) or Mrs. Randolph (B303) to get a petition and for more information. Petitions will be due by April 19th in order to have your name on the ballot for the May 3rd Election of Officers.
Do you want to be a part of a team, create stunning visual performances, hall marches, pep assemblies, and football games? Come tryout for Color Guard. We will have our Clinic/ Try-out on Saturday, April 20th from 8am-3pm. Enter through Door # 32 at the New Gym. Don't be shy and bring a friend to go show off those dance moves Be the reason we bring the Marching Band music to life on the Football field! For more information, contact Mr. Kaspar in room F117.
Class of 2024 – Today will be the last day to participate in the long time honored tradition of signing inside the Wichita North High School Tower. An email was sent to all Class of 2024 students with a list of expectations that you need to be aware of. The time to sign is 3:20-4:20 pm. Class of 2024, please check your email for more details. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Wyatt in Academy 2.
Friday, April 19th will be the last day that all students and staff will be able to check out a library book.
The North Theatre department is excited to present The Addams Family, a new musical comedy on Friday April 19th and Saturday April 20th at 7pm in the auditorium. When Wednesday falls in love with a "normal" boy, will love prevail? Or will the Addams Family end the relationship for good? Come find out! Tickets are $3 for students with an ID!
Come to the 3rd Annual Auto Invasion Saturday April 20th at 10:00am – 3:00pm. Bring family and friends! Bring your Hot Rods, Sports Cars, and trucks to show off to everyone! Come and enjoy the music, food and cars! Fantastic trophies will be awarded! Check out the fliers on the hallway walls, scan the bar code to register or come over to the ATC building and see Mr. Stock and register.
Attention seniors, the North High Scholarship is now open! This scholarship is only for North High Seniors! The application was sent to your student email. All applications are due Friday, April 26th!
Attention North High Bands, Singers and Musicians! We are looking to showcase your talents at North High’s most important event, Waterfest! If you are interested in performing at Waterfest, see Mr. Foote in F110 for more information. Music acts must audition with Mr Foote before Thursday, April 25th in order to be included. Again, North High musicians, see Mr. Foote in F110 to sign up for your spot at Waterfest this year.
