Rapid Recap
Merrimack was coming off a seven inning thumping of Maine on Wednesday in which they scored 19 runs. The bats were flaming hot coming out of that game and carried right into this one. After nothing in the first, MC would strike for four runs the fourth after Frankie Ferrentino tattooed his 11th homer of the year and Matthew Chatelle followed that up with a three run jack. The Warriors would score two more in the 3rd inning off the bat of Braydon Dolbashian. In the fifth they would make it 7-0 after the Christian Scanlon blast. While this was happening at the plate, on the bump for the Warriors was a man possessed in Andrew Heffernan. He would pitch 6 ⅓ innings striking out a career high 10 batters and gave up just one run. The bullpen would struggle once replacing Heffernan as they gave up five runs in the 8th to allow NSU to creep back in at 9-6. However, the offense responded in the ninth going for 11 runs to help pad their lead and more. Merrimack would go out with a bang scoring 20 total runs in the win over the Spartans.
