Nora's protagonist is the author of cookbooks -- a perfect metaphor for the female view of marriage. Aren't nurturing females always looking for the right recipe to make their family and friends feel better?
An annotated version of this book ought to be issued that invites those involved in the events of Nora's and Carl's marriage to comment and philosophize from the wisdom of their later years.
Possible commentaries? From Carl Bernstein (Nora's ex-husband); from Meryl Streep, who played Nora in the film "Heartburn"; from Bob Woodward (so he can lie some more about Deep Throat and Watergate).
