Someone alert Lady Whistledown. Regé-Jean Page, who embodies Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings on Netflix's hit series "Bridgerton," hosted this weekend's "Saturday Night Live" and some of the female cast members couldn't contain their excitement.
Aidy Bryant (having ditched her Ted Cruz Cancun cornrows) playfully interrupted the actor's monologue to announce she would be his "SNL" liaison, "a personal escort for all your personal needs." "Anything you need – alcohol, a massage," she offered, nervously adopting a bit of a British accent.
But Bryant wasn't the only "SNL" player trying to pull the old liaison trick. Enter Ego Nwodim offering her services with a curtsy to Page.
"You can both relax," Page insisted. "I am nothing like my character the duke."

The actor stared into the camera as seductive music began to play. "I'm actually quite shy. ... It's hard for me to talk about myself because, well, mostly I just want to listen." Page took a sip from his snifter, which got the women hot and bothered.
"OK, this is dangerous," Nwodim joked.
"Yeah, yeah, we're just big fans of the duke and of 'Bridgerton' and of seeing your bottom," said Bryant.
After Page teased the women by crooning "Unchained Melody," Chloe Fineman popped up dressed as the duke's love interest, Daphne Bridgerton.
Later in the show, "SNL" revisited the Netflix series with Fineman as Phoebe Dynevor, the actress who plays Daphne. She and Page, who played himself, needed to meet with intimacy coordinators before shooting a love scene. While their usual coordinator was unavailable, Richie (Mikey Day) and his nephew, Randy (Pete Davidson), were there to help. Apparently they "took a Zoom and got certified to do all the sex scene stuff."
They were as bad as it sounds, with protective garments that they guessed were clean.
Too bad they also made up the body makeup crew.
