Highlights

  • The cast members of Jackass have varying net worths, with Johnny Knoxville being the wealthiest.
  • Some cast members, like Dave England and Preston Lacy, have lower net worths compared to their colleagues.
  • Despite being famous, Steve-O has a net worth of $4 million and has faced scandals and legal issues throughout his career.

In the early 2000s, MTV commissioned Jackass, a show that involved a cast of nine different members performing extreme stunts and pranks in public. The concept of Jackass was inspired by the skateboarding culture of the 1990s, which influenced Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze, and Johnny Knoxville, the creators of the show.

Over the years, the show spawned multiple spin-offs and specials, with most of the cast reconvening for pain- and laughter-inducing ridiculousness. Despite Jackass' massive popularity (and longevity), not all the cast members have earned the same amount of money from the franchise or outside of it. Here's how the Jackass cast's net worths stack up.

Updated April 2024: Since the article was first published, some of the cast's net worths have changed, and the list has been updated and rearranged accordingly.

9 Bam Margera

Net Worth: $1 Million

  • Age: 44 years

The story of Bam Margera and Jackass does not quite have the same fairy tale ending that his colleagues enjoyed. After a long time as part of the franchise, matters became strained between him and the rest of the team, and he was eventually fired, later suing Jackass for it. He was meant to appear in the recent Jackass Forever film but was fired during pre-production specifically because he was unable to remain sober.

It seems like Jackass star and film actor Johnny Knoxville just can't seem to escape the court room.

Bam enjoyed his own MTV stunt series titled Viva La Bam. He is also an indie film writer, director and actor, with at least three big screen credits on his resume. His life's work has earned him a total net worth of about $1 million.

Since leaving Jackass, however, his life has not been easy. He faced some trouble with the law, particularly after he fled rehab. He also was pronounced legally dead in 2022 after his health deteriorated, but doctors were able to resuscitate him.

8 Dave England

Net Worth: $2.5 Million

  • Age: 54 years

Dave England once declared himself 'the world's first professional sh***er,' after he became the first member to perform stunts that involved human waste on the show. Clearly, it's a lucrative talent. However, Dave England's net worth of $2.5 million makes him the least wealthy of all his former colleagues.

In regard to his personal life, England is a vegetarian and has four children. Other than appearing in Jackass productions, England also made an appearance on Celebrity Family Feud in 2022.

7 Preston Lacy

Net Worth: $3 Million

  • Age: 54 years

Missouri-born Preston Lacy is the same age as Dave England. He always aimed for a career on the screen, starting out as an actor in commercials before he finally got to feature on Jackass. His fear of heights was eventually used against him in later Jackass productions.

Many of Lacy's stunts involved him performing pantsless and shirtless on the streets, stunts that built him a net worth of about $3 million.

6 Ehren McGhehey

Net Worth: $3.5 Million

  • Age: 47 years

Ehren McGhehey is not too far ahead of his friends in net worth terms, with his current total assets valued at around $3.5 million. Most of that would have been earned from his time on Jackass, a total of 24 episodes from the original series.

McGhehey is a self-starter, as he was discovered by producer Jeff Tremaine while writing and shooting his own show in the late '90s. He only joined the Jackass team after his friend Dave England asked producers to add him to the group. It has been said on several podcasts that McGhehey was bullied by his Jackass co-stars since he was the butt of many jokes on and off set.

5 Chris Pontius

Net Worth: $4 Million

  • Age: 49 years

Chris Pontius fell together with the Jackass gang years before they started doing the show when they were interviewed together for a snowboarding magazine. Ponius is responsible for many stunts and jokes that revolve around nudity or character work. Pontius' current net worth is about $4 million.

4 Steve-O

Net Worth: $4 Million

  • Age: 49 years

Despite being one of the more famous names from the original guys on Jackass, Steve-O is estimated to have a total asset value of about $4 million. His portfolio in both film and TV is much more extensive than that of his colleagues, though. In addition to his stand-up comedy tour, Steve-O has appeared in productions such as MADtv, Totally Busted on Playboy TV, and Wildboyz, which he co-created and starred in with Pontius.

Though successful, Steve-O has been involved in quite a few scandals over the years. He pled guilty to the felony charge of drug possession, and he was sentenced to jail time after doing a stunt to protest Sea World. Steve-O has since gotten sober and has written a book called A Hard Kick in the Nuts: What I've Learned from a Lifetime of Terrible Decisions.

3 Ryan Dunn

Net Worth: $6 Million

  • Passed away at the age of 34

Ryan Dunn was Bam Margera's closest friend from the franchise since the two grew up — and grew to fame — together. Dunn was a huge part of early Jackass content. During one stunt, he injured his shoulder so badly it caused a potentially life-threatening blood clot. Dunn also suffered from depression.

Before his tragic death in 2011 at the age of 34, Ryan Dunn had the privilege of hosting and starring in a number of shows and movies away from Jackass. Some of his most notable works included Homewrecker and Blind Ambition; all told, his projects earned him a net worth of about $6 Million. Dunn died behind the wheel of a car, and the accident was later determined to be caused by his blood alcohol content.

  • Age: 50 years

Best known as 'Wee Man,' Jason Acuña was often the target of Preston Lacy's half-naked street pranks on Jackass.

Apart from reality TV shows, Acuña also had acting credits in the movies Grind, Death to the Supermodels, and National Lampoon's TV: The Movie. Jason's net worth is $8 million, the second-highest of all the Jackass crew.

1 Johnny Knoxville

  • Age: 53 years

Johnny Knoxville stands head and shoulders above all his colleagues when it comes to net worth. In fact, even if all their wealth was pooled together, they still wouldn't come close to the 53-year-old's $50 million net worth.

The fact that Knoxville is the highest-paid really is no surprise, considering he has worked on countless projects apart from Jackass. Knoxville has over 50 acting credits, in addition to hundreds of appearances as himself. The actor also writes and produces, and has projects slated through 2023 and beyond.

Knoxville seems to finally be putting his stunt days behind him. In 2022, he was a main cast member in the television series Reboot and a host of the reality comedy show The Prank Panel.
