Nichols Arboretum Loop Trail

Other than the overcast and temperature plunge for April, the hike was pleasant.

The temperature is mild, the soil/ ground was in a good condition, some bugs were out but not significantly disturbing. The trail was pleasant, not too much of incline.

snow covered march day was nice. a little slippery on the step sections, but all in all a nice hike.

Dry nice weather

Great loop trail, good diversity. Best in Ann Arbor!

Enjoyable stroll through Ann Arbor with pit stops at some of their finest establishments.

Beautiful trail in the dry weather. However, on this Saturday, it was icy, slippery, sloshy, and muddy. We had to cut it short and walk some on sidewalks.

- Trail is in an area of medical so NO PARKING available normally unless you have a permit. Maybe there's another entrance but don't use navigation suggested.

Good hike. Several hills that could be challenging if wet or snow covered. Trail well maintained and not too crowded on this day. Parking can be challenging in the area.

To me it was a little bit harder than “easy” due to the elevations, but pretty views of the river and would be beautiful earlier in the fall.

So peaceful especially in a light rain during the fall colors.

Lovely trail system. Very complex - gives you lots of options. Map on AllTrails is very clear and works well here without needing to download. The walks are in a forested area. It’s a bit hilly in places. There are many marked trees with type and age. A pleasant place to hike seemingly right in the middle of Ann Arbor.

It’s finally the time of year where mother nature signals her immanent death by developing into a beautiful display of colors and smells. Autumn represents the end of everything beautiful and the beginning of a brown, sad, rain-filled winter. Despite this, I will always associate autumn with the beginning of something new, most likely due to nostalgia of homecomings and football games during a new school year. Regardless, this was a pleasant adventure through the woods, even though cold rains terrorized me throughout.

Watch out for downed trees! A number of trails are closed after last weeks storms so they can clear the debris. The main trail is open and clear though!

A few spots meet to be cleaned up. Nice hike. Two spot with step, they are slippery when wet, when dry easy to hurt yourself. Always a nice hike.

Hard to find free parking

Great trail. Well maintained, different types of scenery, not too crowded, dog friendly, free parking on weeknights and weekends.

Lovers, poets, artists, naturalist. It’s very obvious why “the Arb” holds the highest place in everybody’s heart. The king and queen and people of woods, fields, river and forests.

Love that this trail has decent elevation changes for SE Michigan and good access to the river for my dogs to play in to cool down

Gorgeous place. If you’re from a part of the country with actual terrain this will scratch the itch… a little bit anyway!!

The Peony garden and Heathdale area are excellent when in bloom.

Great for running/walking, there’s also other entrances to get to the water as u walk down to the left of the main river landing that r less busy
