Hands down - the best movie theatre in the greater DC area. Landmark E Street shows wonderful "art house" movies in a clean, comfortable, and very welcoming environment. The staff are friendly and professional. The concessions are superb - more than just fake buttered popcorn at this movie house!!! Good set up for wheelchair patrons.
Street parking in the area can be tough to find, but it is only 2 blocks from Metro Center metro.
Independent films, foreign films, the movies you will not see at the local mall cineplex. GO TO LANDMARK E STREET!
Finding ourselves without much to do after 5pm on a cold November day, my friend and I thought of spending our first evening in DC watching a movie. Coming from a jaunt in Newseum, Landmark's E Street Cinema was just a couple of blocks away.
The theater staff were very friendly and accommodating and premises were tidy and clean. Seats were standard but comfortable. We watched The Book Thief that night.
All in all a nice way to spend a quiet evening when all the museums in town have closed.
Great theater in Downtown Washington. Multiplex for independent and foreign films that have limited screening in the US.
Beautiful facility - great seating - Bar for beer, wine and mixed drinks.
Our "Go-To" theater in Washington, D.C.
Don't miss this one if you are looking for a movie - or a place to spend a few hours in the afternoon.

Landmark E Street theater has the classic elements of an independent movie theater - small auditoriums, alcohol and other upscale items at the concession stands - while avoiding the rundown, crummy, dirty appearance that most such theaters have. The interior of the theater looks great, with nice carpeting, stylish wallpaper and movie posters from classic independent films displayed on the walls. The auditoriums are nice and clean with large screens, and it shows many more movies than most independent theaters typically show.
Parking is limited to street parking. The theater is extremely Metro-accessible, however, as it is just two blocks from Metro Center and takes less than 10 minutes to walk from Archives and Gallery Place, so you can get there from any metro line.
Overall, it's a great place to go see independent movies.
Visited twice during our 3 day/2 night stay.
Very well maintained multi-plex that shows the latest independent/niche movies.
My preferred movie house for independent, foreign and art films, the E Street Cinema consistently offers up great viewing experiences. This small theater's screens are located at the basement level, reducing unexpected interruptions from ringing phones. Enter at the ground floor level to purchase your ticket from the friendly front desk, and grab a beverage before enjoying your film. This is a great spot for locals to unwind solo or with friends after a hectic day at work in the city.
