NJ attorney general: Man killed in police-involved shooting in Newton

A male civilian was killed Sunday night in a police-involved shooting, according to the state Attorney General’s Office.
The incident occurred in Newton around 9:30 p.m.
According to a release about the preliminary investigation from the attorney general:
“Three uniformed officers of the Newton Police Department arrived at a residence on Clive Place, Newton, NJ at approximately 9:30 p.m. in response to a 911 call. During an encounter outside the residence, two Newton police officers fired their service weapons, fatally wounding the man. First aid was rendered by officers." 
Officials say the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene where a semi-automatic handgun was also recovered. 
No other details have been released about the incident.
