QAnon conspiracists believed Trump would return to the White House on Thursday because it was the original date of the presidential inaugurations, before it switched to January 20 when the 20th amendment was passed in 1933.
Federal agencies, like the U.S. Capitol Police and the Department of Homeland Security, prepared for possible violence, following the Capitol riots in early January that involved QAnon supporters, among others, storming the seat of government.
After March 4 passed without violence, Twitter users mocked the QAnon theorists on Twitter, sharing jokes and memes about the inauguration that never happened.
Educator and writer Sari Beth Rosenberg said: "I'm sure if they wait a little bit longer that #TrumpInauguration will happen at some point before the day is over..." and attached a meme of a winking Agnes Harkness in WandaVision.
Comedian and actor Patton Oswalt said: "Guys, I'm at the DuPont Circle Pinkberry for the #TrumpInauguration. I'm here with four Proud Boys, their moms and Scott Baio. Did we get the address wrong? Help me out, this Minuteman costume is super-itchy."
Activist Erin Brockovich replied and said: "Patton it's at Pinkberry Landscaping in Roslyn."
Twitter user @Dazed4Daze1534 said: "Trumpers looking for the #TrumpInauguration like..." and attached the meme of The Weeknd looking lost at the Superbowl.
Author Craig Rozniecki said: "About this QAnon Trump inauguration, did anyone check Four Seasons Total Landscaping? #TrumpInauguration"—a reference to the site of a Rudy Giuliani press conference held when networks called the election for Joe Biden,
However, some QAnon theorists seem to believe that Trump's inauguration will now happen on March 20, the 167th anniversary of the Republican Party's founding.
But the theorists may not want to get their hopes up, as a March 4 inauguration is not the only QAnon prediction that did not come true.
Other predictions that have failed to come true include Hilary Clinton's arrest, which the theory claimed would happen as early as 2017, and "The Storm" which was to be the day that high-profile child abusers would be arrested and executed and was supposed to happen on December 5, 2018, January 19, 2019, and then on President Biden's inauguration day, January 20, 2021.
Some QAnon theorists have claimed that the reason why Trump was not inaugurated yesterday is that March 4 was a "false flag" operation created by the media, Antifa, and the Black Lives Matter movement.
