Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Debbie VStoke-on-Trent39 contributionsI’ve been wanting to complete the extended mine tour for ages and I wasn’t disappointed. It was a truly amazing experience and gave a wonderful insight into local history and mining. My guide Ron blew me away with his knowledge. I learnt so much and wish I’d completed the tour sooner. The main tour is great but this extended tour gives a much more authentic experience. I left in absolutely awe of the job of a miner. We are so very lucky that this centre exists. Special thanks to Ron for the fabulous tour.Written 12 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- LizzyHong Kong, China8 contributionsVery fascinated to see a museum inbuilt in a huge mansion, although small but lots to see. Very impresed with the 2nd floor especially.Written 11 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nigel J1 contributionI walk this country park many times each year but have seen signs for the future that concern me. At the top end not far from the top Black Bank car park the track rises to an excellent viewpoint, which has been advertised on leaflets. There are trees in the area from the fence downwards growing in the Lapwing Paddock which will eventually block out this view, so I would urge the authorities to get them cut out.
Already near the Blue Wheel, trees have blocked out the once interesting views that used to be obtained through the holes in the standing planks of wood.
These are two significant features of the park that need to be maintained; viewpoints provide not only an excellent attraction for visitors but have a calming effect on people and make a major contribution to people's mental health.Written 16 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A few different paths you can take not a massive park but big enough you could easily lose yourself for a few hours.Written 21 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 1949etwallAshbourne, UK1,657 contributionsVisited here with a group of friends.
The setting is superb- parkland, scenic lake and impressive drive. Because of very wet weather we were not able to walk the garden.
Very friendly guide who was informative and approachable. The house has a beautiful warm feeling, so it was a delight to walk around.
House has much to interest- with intrinsic architectural interest. The walk was centred on the family portraits- and perhaps the house has more to give of itself to provide more variety.

Cheap entry, I think the quality of food is great for children slightly over priced , plenty of choice for food and drink for children and adults , serve breakfast and lunch . staff are lovely . Noticed that some reviews say its not clean enough , when I go in the play area with my children there is a couple of rappers and a bit of dust in hard to reach places but nothing if perfect but my kids love it ! and its clean where they play , tables are always cleaned when someone leaves they clean it very quickly . The partys look brilliant for young children. 2 hour for 5 pound each child is great , enough time to tire the children out. I also went to a sensory session that jumbo are setting up for September its was brilliant my kids loved it and definitely need old clothes for children and adults amazing messy play , will 100% attend in September 23. Would advice taking change as they have go carts , lollipop machine, children's ride that you may see outside supermarkets
And toy machine. I enjoy taking my children perfect couple of hours for them once or twice a week.Written 21 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
