What travelers are saying
- alyssa MHuntington Station, NY115 contributionsO M G. My daughter go married there last month. We never anticipated how unbelievable it would be. We hope for the best but let me tell you it was just amazing. From the time we entered the venue till leaving , everything was perfect. Rocco was our go to guy. Sensational. Went above and beyond what we could have imagined. I can’t say enough about him and how special he made us feel and of course my daughter the Bride!,,,,,, Everything was perfect. Her bridal attendant was the best one can ask for. She was in on everything making all the women feel relaxed, what ever we needed she went and did. The other shout out goes to the woman who greets you when u come into the venue. Sorry I forgot her name. Always a smile on her face and was always making sure we were good! Also the waitress who followed my husband was awesome. Getting him what he needed so he did not have to wait on line. If you are looking for a top notch venue this is the place for you. I can’t say enough great things. It was just PERFECTWritten December 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stephen MNew Rochelle, NY56 contributionsHaving lived in Westchester all of my life and having passed by the sign for the cottage too many times to count I was there one weekend in October. The Cottage and grounds had been set up as a Pirate experience for visitors. The grounds are beautiful. You cross over a small bridge over a rivulet to get to the main grounds which are spacious enough for young children who do not want to go in. Once inside there are artifacts from the period and a life size replica of Thomas Paine.
It's a nice piece of American History. Don't plan on a long visit the whole cottage, and it is a cottage, can be seen in a half hour.Written July 9, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our guide, Zoe, kindly jumped in with clues when we needed help. The kids really worked together as a team and solved the puzzles. Zoe was a fantastic guide - friendly and helpful. Already planning our next visit! Highly recommend.Written January 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JemlnlxBronx, NY4,790 contributionsGreat time here at the Rock Club.
Purchased a Groupon and decided to visit on a Friday morning. Called ahead and the front desk staff were very quick in getting back to me to confirm that a belayer was available at that time. They also confirmed the Groupon over the phone. I went ahead and completed the required waiver forms online prior to our visit.
Adequate parking was available at that time. The Rock Club (downstairs) shares its space with a with a tennis club, so make sure you follow the ramp down toward the Rock Club entrance and NOT the stairs whih leads to the tennis club.
We arrived at around 10am and it was fairly empty. The Rock Club staff explained the process and set us up with climbing shoes.
We were then introduced to our belayer who was awesome. Over the next hour, we tried climbs ranging in difficulty. The wall heights range from about 35-40 feet and the peg placement and wall angles vary throughout the climbs, making some more difficult than others. We even had some time to try some bouldering. Our belayer was great at explaining techniques and technical terms. She was very patient and very encouraging...though not "pushy" at all.
After we finished, the staff was nice enough to show us around to see what else was available at the facility: childrens area, common areas, training rooms and weight rooms.
May go without saying...wear comfy clothes. As a regular gym-goer, but someone who has NOT climbed before, this was a welcomed challenge. Certain muscles, particularly the forearms and core, may not be part of the typical gym regimen...but are very important in climbing...that being said, I was definitely feeling it the next day.
Overall we had a great experience at the Rock Club. We will deinifitely look into other classes.
Kudos to all the staff members there.Written February 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
