Great museum, and a must see while visiting New Orleans. There is so much to see here so it was very overwhelming and there is no way you would be able to see everything in one day. The restaurant was great also, the only negative thing was that it was very hard to navigate. It wasn't clear which direction you should go next and I missed some sections of the museum because of this.

It's a beautiful park to wander and grab and nearby beignet at.
You can easily catch street performers and a tan during a mid day stroll.

This place is so quaint, totally historic in every sense of the word, has such an atmosphere that is like no where else in the world! Top that of with great hotels , and truly amazing and very numerous restaurants! I could stay on Jackson Square for hours just enjoying the unique but very stimulating cacophany!

Frenchman area is a must go to. Lots of great bands playing at dba, Maison, etc etc. And food ranging from hot dogs to fine dining.
A problem venue is Frenchman hotel: room is tiny; way too small to accommodate bands and patrons. For example Tuba Skinny was playing and zero room for dancers as well as patrons. Find a courtyard or use dba more.

Stunning residential community. It is a residential community, so be respectful.
Also, go in with a plan. Being that it's a neighborhood, houses and parks worth seeing are spread out and you could find yourself wandering about.

Definitely worth the visit. So different from the grunge and hustle of the French quarter.

St. Louis Cathedral is one of the oldest cathedrals in continuous use in the United States and a testament to the faith and vision of the Ursuline Sisters, who helped bring this cathedral into existence. Its magnificent architecture rivals many of the churches in Europe. It is certainly a place of solace and quiet just outside the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street. We had the privilege of attending mass on Sunday and the choir was incredible…truly a beautiful spiritual experience.

This is a great place if you are visiting New Orleans. While the city center itself caters to a variety of food and music, here is where you can taka nice leisurely walk and see a few museums-that are all of very high quality. If you are coming to NO with family, do not miss this place. Plenty of parking and lots of trail, food and museums

Saw the Preservation Brass Band on a Monday night in March '24

Pros: Music was fun, energetic and played to perfection. Musicians stayed after for photos and a chat, so my teen jazz player enjoyed those interactions. Good merch selection.

Cons: Short - about 45 minutes; Pricey (and you'll want to pay for front row to avoid standing, to avoid being behind a column blocking your view, and to not have to worry about getting on line ridiculously early - I'm glad we did); Small facility with no heat/AC and no bathroom.
