Rally for choice

McNair Academic High School student, Aleyna Kilic, organized a reproductive rights rally at the City Hall in Jersey City on Oct. 3 in response to the Texas Heartbeat Bill, which legally restricts women from getting abortions after six weeks. Several speakers addressed the crowd of young students who held provocative signs that showed their support for a woman’s right to autonomy over her body.

Promoter who brought Flock of Seagulls to America brings them back 40 years later

English new wave band A Flock of Seagulls, formed in Liverpool in 1979, had their first show in America happen when DJ/promoter Randy Now (Randy Ellis) brought them to legendary night club City Gardens in Trenton (which closed in 2001). Forty years later, Ellis brought them back to his Man Cave in Bordentown  and shoehorned Flock of Seagulls founder Mike Score, guitarist Gordon Deepe and a small but staunch crowd of 35 into his record store.
