I saw some other thread about cingular is carriar of net10, and I can use mynumber@cingularme.com to give as my SMS address.

Is this actually can be confirmed by somebody already tested this ?

Any confirmation on it?

I just got a new net10 cell phone and activited it, then was told net10 not support such fuction.

Anybody help.

the address for sending sms to a phone with at&t is, yourphonenumber@txt.att.net

ex: 814525XXXX@txt.att.net

If you have a WAP enabled phone the address for sending MMS is similar
ex: 814525XXXX@mms.att.net

When sending text messages from an email account send it in PLAIN TEXT format. Rich text format could be multiple pages even for a short message and result in a charge for reading each page. You can set it in your email clients address book to always send plain text format to that email address.

Thanks

What I mean is for my net10 phone --- I have LG 300, I need to be able to receive SMS on this phone from somebody who will use my text messeging email address. I want to know what is my SMS text messenging address for my net10 phone.

to send an sms from another phone to your phone, they just send it to your phones phone number using their text message feature.
To send an sms message from an email client (their computer) they have to send it to an email address. The email address that will deliver it to your phone is your10digitnumber@txt.att.net

Thank you so much -- but

I was told by net10 customer service, this feature is not supported.

Can anybody tell me if anybody tested this feature? is it really working?

Yes it works. Use the addresses that Jim has given, and it should work just fine.

it does work

Believe these guys, it DOES work. Most Tracfones and Net 10 phones have this feature, even if not officially supported by tracfone.

If tracfone said the feature was supported it would mean they might have to actually give some support for it, such as telling you how to do it or telling you what the address is for the phone. Since they say that particular feature isn't supported then they are off the hook.

send me your phone number in a PM and I will send you an email.

T-Mobile and Verizon are also carriers for Net10. Are you sure the phone is on At&t.

Here it is on the web if you need to read it for yourself.
How to send email to a cellular phone

Nope, doesn't work. Just tried it.

<xxx5479220@txt.att.net>:
66.102.165.114 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 Invalid recipient: <xxx5479220@txt.att.net>
Giving up on 66.102.165.114.

Perhaps att is not the domain required for email-to-SMS messages on Net10 phones.

Yep, works. Just tried it.

Go to whitepages.com and find the mobile carrier lookup link. On that page, you can type in your phone number and it will tell you what network your phone is using. I did it with my Net10 number in western mass. and AT&T came up as the carrier. Give it a try.

Sent email to every domain on that page. Sendsmsnow.com and vtext.com (verizon) work, almost instantly. Thanks for the link. It seems net10 uses half a dozen carriers, and their customer service cannot tell you which is used for your specific number.

Thank you. Came up as unlisted. Appreciate the tool to try, though.

Yeah, you are 100% correct. I am very anal about the butt wiping thing.......you know, personal hygiene and all........lmao.....("anal")...

What model fone do you have? What is the zip code where you activated the fone? That may help with narrowing down the underlying carrier which in turn will help with getting the correct email address.

EDIT: Actually if vtext.com is working I guess that means you have a cdma fone on VZ/alltel. ?

So your carrier isn't Cingular (At&t), which is the impression you gave in your original post. We could have told you it was @vtext.com if we knew you had a CDMA phone. CDMA tracfones do not work on At&t, only Verizon, Alltel or USCellular.

I think this guy is new to Tracfone. Give him a break -- he probably didn't know the difference between GSM and CDMA to begin with. Next time ask for the model of the phone, that would help -- then he could have looked at his packaging and told us, then we could have helped him faster.
