The first Nemesis is actually very good and completely unlike the half dozen sequels. You can really see this movie's stylistic influence on subsequent cyberpunk movies and even games like Deus Ex (my favorite.) Sometimes I think this movie was ripped off shot for shot by bigger budget movies that came later.

The star is kind of a discount John Claude and the women are ALL gorgeous. The SF elements are well... unevenly developed but quite original for its time and thought provoking. The cinematography is always interesting even if sometimes cramped.

Sound editing could stand a rework. Sometimes the actors are hard to understand over the explosions.

I always liked this little movie.

The double movie set for Olivier Grunner is really only about NEMISIS, a futuristic cyber-punk action flick that is on the B-movie side of quality in affects, and at time acting. There are times wen you forget it is th at level until make-up or special affects are done, but it is a fun watch. There was some pixalating in the first 10 minutes or so on the disc, but then it ran smoothly.

I purchased this Oliver Gruner double feature DVD of Nemesis/Angel Town "new" from Amazon and it was defective; the disc was not even recognized by any of the three disc drives I have. I ordered a "new" replacement and the same thing happened. I noticed that both DVDs, although they appear to be commercially-pressed, have a slight bluish tint to them, which is not "standard" and I suspect that these were pressed in a non-standard way causing them to be defective. I also suspect that MVD (and perhaps Amazon as well) knew these discs were defective when they shipped them.

I have received 3 separate copies of this disc. NONE have played on ANY device be it all region dvd, gamebox or laptop. Disappointment with the manufacturer for stamping-out such bunk.
On the positive - Amazon returns have been stellar; be it payment return or item replacement. Top notch customer service which is why Amazon is one of the few online vendors I use. E-haw
