Follow up for anniversary meal with my wife Follow up for anniversary meal with my wife
Travel Advice

Hello again everyone! I feel it would be a sin to not thank you for the hells backbone recommendation on food. My wife absolutely loved it, and I think we both agree it’s in our top 3 dining experiences we’ve shared together. I just wanted to thank you all for the amazing advice on what to do! Also, we spent the day at capitol reef and boy was it an underrated park. We got some pie and loved the picnic area. We had a fantastic day and just wanted to say thank you!

Living in Salt Lake City as a non Mormon trying to make friends Living in Salt Lake City as a non Mormon trying to make friends
Q&A

Originally from Boise, Idaho here, born and raised relocated to Salt Lake City almost 10 years ago. I really love Utah. It is a beautiful place and has a lot to offer. Something that has stuck out to me though is that people seem kind of reserved here. We moved into a really nice neighborhood near West Jordan, and after two years of trying to get to know people, it feels like most don’t go out of their way to engage. I am a mother with two small children and would consider myself very social and outgoing. Boise, where I grew up is a very friendly space, and I, too am a very friendly person, but I am finding that isn’t the case with a lot of interactions I have. I feel like I really have to go out of my way to get people to engage. I’ve always heard good things about Utah and that it’s a lot of nice Mormon and non Mormon people but I am starting to wonder if it’s because I’m not LDS and I don’t look LDS that I’m struggling to find my people. I do have a lot of LDS in my neighborhood. Anyone born and raised, or have lived here, long enough to have an opinion on the matter? Greatly appreciated.

27 years old and looking at into getting into a trade. Best options in Utah? 27 years old and looking at into getting into a trade. Best options in Utah?
Q&A

I got my degree in bioinformatics and data science from BYU Idaho back in July of 2023 and safe to say, been regretting college since finding a job to utilize my skillset in that market is very hard currently. I have a couple of friends who are doing Electrician apprenticeships in Logan and they seem to like it. After my mission back in 2017, I worked as an HVAC tower cleaner for a few months and a water chemical treater for the same company in between semesters. Looking back on it, I wonder if the trades would've been ideal for me since my family couldn't afford me to go to college and now I struggle to find employment in my field of study.

Utah State Park Pass Utah State Park Pass
Travel Advice

Just found this out yesterday...

It USED to be that State Park Passes were dated from January to January - so if you purchased in, say, May, you lost 25% of the available usage. I always thought that was not fair.

I purchased one today, and they're now 12-month passes - so I'm covered until April 30 next year. The State (or someone) has done something that benefits the residents!

Now, if they could just get rid of the noseeums at Antelope, that'd be great...

Request for my Disneyland frequenters out there. Request for my Disneyland frequenters out there.
Q&A

I used to work at Disneyland and so I'm very aware that at any given time Disneyland is 20% Utahans. LOL That being said, I would really like to send my best friend and her entire family to Disneyland this December. Not at Christmas, but preferably the first or second week. Where can I find the best deal to send eight people to Disneyland for a couple days? Trip packages, including accommodation, would be preferable. I've only gone there by myself and I've never taken other people with me, so I have no idea where to even start for this kind of thing. I will also hit up the Disney subs. Thanks in advance!
