On Aug. 28, 2017, the price of the lifetime America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass – increased for the first time since 1994, from $10 to $80. A one-year Senior Pass is also available for $20 now.

Senior Passes can be purchased:

  1. In person at all seven GGNRA visitor centers (see the list below) and over 1,000 park locations nationally. Before you go to a visitor center to pick up a pass, please call ahead! Many sites have already sold out.

  2. Online at the U.S. Geological Survey’s website at https://store.usgs.gov/senior-pass. Online purchases are subject to an additional $10 processing fee. If you purchase a pass online, but it has not been delivered yet, the printed order confirmation will be accepted for park admission.

What fees does the Senior Pass cover?
The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass
covers entrance and standard amenity (day-use) recreation fees for pass holders and their companions to more than 2,000 recreation sites managed by the National Park Service, Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Forest Service and Army Corps of Engineers. At per-vehicle areas, it covers all passengers in a non-commercial vehicle. Where per-person fees are charged, it covers up to three adult companions.

Why is the fee increasing?
The cost of the lifetime pass is equal to that of the annual America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, in accordance with the measure passed by Congress on Dec. 16, 2016. The additional revenue will be used to enhance the visitor experience.
