It is so spacious and at moments you can be alone in front of a piece.
The cost of the ticket is totally worth even 1 hour visit, but give yourself more time...

It is one of high lights in NY . No matter you are fan of art modern or not you will enjoy it.but if you are fat of modern art ,
It is the best around the world.

You can visit the whole museum in 1-2 hours, so you don't get overfed with art. Here it's the seventh and beyond the interesting art inside there's a great terrace view of the city with several interesting sculptures to see. The hit of our visit was the large Edward Hopper (one of our favorites) selection from the permanent collection on view. If you read it after, you missed out on this space, but check out what they’re doing as a museum without walls. The Rubin is a hyper focused museum and all the better for it. We’ve been to scores upon scores of museums around the world, but never one focused on Himalayan Art specifically. And it’s appreciated since the art of the area is too often tossed in with Indian and Chinese or far worse “Asian Art.” While the focus is on more traditional pieces, there are contemporary and interactive elements as well. - VeryPickySuburbanMomSouthborough, MA20 contributionsWe visited on Sunday for the Klimt Exhibit without a reservation and had a very pleasant experience. We waited in a relatively short line outside. Many visitors were entering the relatively small foyer: those with museum reservations, walk-ins like us and others there to dine at the Cafe. There were security people and other staff to guide the process smoothly. Unlike some of the recent reviewers, everyone we encountered was polite and helpful. We went thru a metal detector and had our bags checked but appreciated the security in this day and age. If you are a fan of Gustav Klimt and unable to go to Vienna, highly recommend the Klimt Exhibit. It was well-organized and fascinating. A security employee did ask that visitors who were finished viewing the art move on to make room for others who were waiting but she was not rude about it; there were people "just hanging out" chatting or looking at their cell phones. We spent about an hour between the Klimt Exhibit on the 3rd floor and the exhibits on the 2nd floor. Just to be able to spend some time with the golden portrait of Adele, with her incredible story, is worth the price of admission to me. - Rich BAllen, TX311 contributionsI visited the Guggenheim today. I started on floor six and worked my way down. The most positive thing I can say is that it was definitely not my cup of tea. I thought most of the displayed “pieces of art” were depressing…which I guess was the point. From paper models of her ideas to full blown stage sets showing the depth of her creativity and talent. - Lori MCalifornia1,847 contributionsconvenient location in Columbus Circle. a little pricey for what you get ($18) but I had a pass. there were 3 open floors of galleries plus the lovely goblet display in the stairwell. gorgeous wood carvings in one section, and various other "crafts" showcasing them to actually be just as elevated as "art". exploring what is the difference anyway... ? puppetry, performance art, sculpture, quits, and more gave the visitor plenty to see and enjoy. installations rotate so check what's on! ps - I didn't go the Taylor Swift floor but you are able to see one display on your way to the second floor (which was kind of cool). It is located on 107 St a short walk from St John the Divine. it is housed in a lovely townhouse off Riverside Drive. It is not only chock full of Roerich's paintings but also will give one an appreciation of his inspiration and commitment to world peace. His paintings are spiritual as well as beautiful. - DominicLondon, UK3 contributionsMercer Labs is quite new, and certainly impressive. I go to many of these “immersive” experiences, and the quality of the setup is impressive. The video projections, mirrored rooms and lighting is complex and well executed. It really is a best-in-class in terms of technical execution.
I was there with my 2 children, and overall we had a good time as family. We spent over 2 hours there (in large part because of the drawing area where you can colour in dinosaurs). So good experience length, although important to note that this is an EXPENSIVE experience.
BUT - and I accept this might not be important to some - it has a problem with its story. I tried really hard to understand what (if any?!) narrative was weaving through the series of rooms. I felt like I was not clever enough to figure it out. There is a cryptic writing that seems to flow between the rooms, but I couldn’t piece together what the narrative was. So as impressive as each room was, I ended up treating them as standalone experiences. I also felt it was a shame that there was nothing truly interactive given the amount of technology deployed.
So, overall, I would recommend it as an impressive audio/visual experience. It’s very well executed. It had an exhibit of travel posters across the decades that was fascinating to see and to read the backgrounds of. In the lower level was a movie poster exhibit. - dcolinsLondon, UK121 contributionsI'd seen the work of these people in the South of France in the extremely exciting setting of a stone mine! The old Emigrants Industrial Savings Bank is the venue here: also fascinating, even the old tellers' windows still line the walls. The Chagall and Kandinsky displays were beautiful and moving. We experienced them on the main floor, but on the lower floor I think the feeling is better, the space is much more iopen. While you're there don't miss the vault!
