What To Expect

Head to Toulouse Street in the French Quarter and board your beautiful riverboat. This paddlewheel ship — one of the last of its kind in New Orleans — will transport you back to the 19th century when ports bustled with produce-laden cargo ships, steamboats, and clandestine privateering.

Take a stroll along the deck as you begin the journey along the Mississippi River. Then have a seat in the cabin or on the outside deck, where you’ll get unobstructed views of the striking shoreline at dusk, and soak up some live jazz tunes from the Grammy-nominated Dukes of Dixieland, a true New Orleans-style band.

As for dinner, your Creole-inspired meal might includes favorites like from chicken and sausage gumbo and cheesy penne pasta. Top it off with signature bread pudding accompanied by coffee and tea.

Your evening cruise ends back at the departure point in the French Quarter.

The Mighty Mississippi
Charles_A, Apr 2024
Seeing the tug boats and cargo down the river. Nite view of New Orleans, the sunset and sugar refining warehouses
Great
Stephen_W, Apr 2024
Dinner was very good including drinks With the backdrop of the New Orleans skyline at night, it was very scenic and very entertaining
One Perfect Evening!
Lakeea_T, Apr 2024
The entire experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was amazing. Great food and drinks, including non alcoholic! The weather was perfect and the river was calm. We saw the sun set and the moon rise. Amazing!
Exceeded expectations
Dave_M, Apr 2024
The Steamboat Nachez was a relaxing and informative way to spend the evening. Food was buffet style, the tour narration was fantastic. We had a member who needed wheelchair service and the staff was outstanding in finding a splendid table location on the outside deck and taking us from the steamboat close to an uber location. Such a treat - a must do.

Mitch_P, Apr 2024

Worth the time
Marie_F, Apr 2024
So informative. Fun and smooth ride up and down the river. Food was not 5 star but was ok and a lot of it. Would have liked a better choice of dessert
A must do!
Tracy_F, Apr 2024
Excellent cruise, great staff and great music. I didn't choose the dining option, but I enjoyed the food on the lower deck. Got jambalaya, gumbo, a sausage(didn't know it had alligator meat in it) and refillable diet coke for about $35. Highly recommend this cruise
Evening trip was immensely romantic!
matthew_k, Apr 2024
Hands down one of the most romantic dates/trips I’ve been on in a long time! The weather was fantastic and the sunset was vibrant, my girlfriend and I got all dressed up fancy for our anniversary and we were blown away with how fantastic the ship was, the food was great and getting to see the open engine room was phenomenal! And the jazz band was very lively the whole time!
Fun Evening on the Mississippi!T
Adam_G, Apr 2024
Great food...beautiful views...don't miss the visit to the engine room...lovely evening! Suggestion...better speakers so you can hear the captain speak about the history of the boat and the Mississippi!
The steamboat ride was...
Allison_P, Apr 2024
The steamboat ride was cool. The dinner wasn’t very good or worth the money. The narrator of the tour did a good job.
Great dinner & jazz evening riverboat cruise.
Shane_G, Apr 2024
I arranged this dinner & jazz evening riverboat cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We loved the food, the music, & the scenery. I was hoping there would be space for dancing, but it seems that a large group of band students took up all the dance floor space in front of the band. We still had a great time.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Happy Anniversary once again. During the school break we sometimes have groups of choirs and bands in town for a competition and they love to ride the steamboat.
Great tour minus the service
Carmen_P, Apr 2024
The reason for the four star is the overall experience was great. But the service at dinner was horrible. Our server ignored us through out most of the meal. She served others around us and forgot we were there. Brought one dessert and took about 10 minutes to bring the other. After she finally took our credit card for payment it was 15 minutes and we could not find her. We were the last ones in the dining room. Someone has to go looking for her so we could get our card
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thank you for letting us know about your server. Please accept our apology and we will once again remind staff of the importantance of attention to detail.
Worth a trip
Elizabeth_D, Apr 2024
The band were entertaining and talented. Could not hear the information being said over the tannoy, the bar was well stocked but the queue initially was excessive but was dealt with quickly

Brilliant
Christine_E, Apr 2024
The band was amazing and the people onboard were great fun however I suggest people take their jackets with them as it turns very chilly
Ok if nothing better to do.
Allan_T, Apr 2024
This is one of the things you have to do in n NOLA. However the cruise is short. The scenery industrial and half the crowd was drunk or getting there. Food was standard conference fare, not bad but not good. Music was well done but loud.
Wonderful music and stunning views
Emily_C, Apr 2024
Absolutely fantastic! The band was incredible, the views were beautiful, and the boat ride was iconic! One of my favorite New Orleans experiences!
Great outing with friends
Alice_S, Apr 2024
Great trip! This is the second time I’ve done it, brought my friends with this time. Relaxing, informative, with great views.
Golden Coral On The Water!
Glenn_P, Apr 2024
The cruise was extremely short and rushed. By the time dinner was over, we were docked, therefore we never really experienced the Jazzy part of the cruise. Never saw the band. It was not worth the money!
Save your money
Venessa_R, Apr 2024
I can’t say I would do it again. The Friday evening cruise was over crowded and uneventful. We made the mistake of sitting on the river side of the boat instead of the land side when departing. This caused us to miss everything the narrator was talking about upon leaving the dock. The jazz band’s music sounded as those the piano was the only instrument that was in the speakers. As a result the music was also lack lust. The over abundance of seats (I’m sure to accommodate the greatest number of passengers) on the deck and the middle school children who were allowed free rein of the boat made it miserable for the other guests. It’s a great novelty but save your money, you can see the Mississippi River, tankers, and refineries from the shore.
