Who Is Naomi Scott's Husband? All About Jordan Spence

Naomi Scott and Jordan Spence are the textbook definition of high school sweethearts.

The couple first met at their church in the United Kingdom when Scott was 16. Although she was wary at first because he seemed shy, she was also "intrigued" by him.

The Anatomy of a Scandal star opened up to Teen Vogue about her first date with Spence, which was a trip to the movie theater. “We actually went to see Iron Man 2,” Scott revealed during a 2019 interview where she shared a list of her firsts. ”I don’t remember anything about the movie, which tells you that it was a good date.”

She elaborated on the podcast Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware that they also went to a local Italian restaurant, and she was "so nervous" that she couldn't eat. Their reserved demeanors didn't last long, though, and the pair went on to date for four years before getting married in 2014.

More than a decade later, Scott and Spence continue supporting each other in different chapters of their lives. He shared a sweet tribute to his wife on Instagram in March 2022, posting a photo of Scott from the 2022 Oscars.

“Still more than happy to clean the kitchen and carry your bags 👸,” the former soccer player wrote in the caption.

He played professional soccer

Spence was a talented soccer player, beginning his career on the youth team for West Ham United, a premier league team. Later in his career, from 2017 to 2019, he played with Ipswich Town. The following year, shortly before his retirement, he briefly joined ADO Den Haag, a Dutch football club.

A soccer career comes with its highs and lows, as Scott explained to The Telegraph in 2019. "My husband has received abuse on the pitch, even at home [playing at his team’s soccer ground],” the Charlie's Angels star said. “He’s had something thrown at him on the pitch.”

Scott isn't afraid to back up her beau, either. In April 2022, she told Jimmy Kimmel she almost got into a fight at one of Spence’s soccer matches when someone started criticizing her husband's performance.

“Bear in mind these are fans of the team that my husband [was] playing for. This drunk dude was just laying into him,” she said. “I just stood up, and I was like, ‘shut the f--- up,’ but of course, it was also a moment where everyone was just, like, sitting and chilling.”

Scott then revealed that she was subsequently kicked out of the match and didn't regret it. “He was going at my hubs, what am I going to do?”

He loves to read

Spence is fond of reading, something that Scott explained may come as a surprise.

“He’s a footballer so people don’t expect it ... but he’s an avid reader,” Scott told The Telegraph in 2019.

The Power Rangers star also shared that when the pair are having a quiet night in, they’ll watch British TV shows, and Spence will cook them a meal.

He and Scott got married in 2014

The couple got married after four years of dating in June 2014. The Aladdin star was 21 when she became a wife — something she said was not her plan.

“I was never that person who wanted to get married young. It was never what I yearned for, but isn’t that the way?” she told The Telegraph in 2019.

He shows up for Scott

The doting husband often shows support for his wife at events and premieres. Aladdin’s world premiere was held at Disney’s El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles in May 2019, and Spence attended alongside Scott.

The pair walked the red carpet together — which was actually a deep purple shade in honor of the movie. Scott wore a sweeping floor-length pink gown, and Spence opted for a blue suit and tie.

He and Scott co-directed a music video

In the fall of 2019, Scott went behind the camera for the first time alongside her husband to direct the music video for Nick Brewer’s “Forget You."

Scott said it was a learning experience for her and Spence, whose “motto was to say ‘I don’t know’ “ when they needed some guidance on set. However, the pair worked well together and enjoyed sharing their concepts.

“We’re constantly bouncing ideas off of each other: for scripts, for visuals, for music,” Scott told British Vogue of her and Spence’s working relationship.

He added, “Collaborating with each other like this is just part of our everyday life. Plus, for us, this sort of creative work really is personal – and that’s what’s ultimately so great.”

Scott wants to grow with Spence

Scott told British Vogue that one of her ambitions is to be in a “power couple" with Spence while remaining down-to-earth.

"[My faith is the foundation] of every decision I make, and of my marriage," she said. "And we’re young people with big aspirations — I want to be a power couple,"

Scott continued, "I want to make all the money and have a big house. But sometimes Jordan and I say, 'OK, if I never acted in a movie again, if he never set foot on a football pitch, would our world fall apart?' ”

He and Scott are Golden State Warriors fans

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April 2022, The 33 alum revealed that she and Spence are huge fans of the Golden State Warriors — San Francisco's NBA team.

“I don’t know [how we became fans],” she explained. “I think Jordan, my husband, years ago, saw Steph Curry, what an inspiration ... and he just kind of got me into it, and now I’m like, fully in.”

The couple even attended the 2021-2022 season opener and saw the Los Angeles Lakers take on their favorite team. Scott added, “We got to sit courtside, and we were literally two seats away from LeBron James.”
