‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate that for those of you wondering, no, Nancy Lee Grahn does not have the power to hire and fire people on the set of ‘General Hospital’. There’s been much speculation that Ingo Rademacher was let go from the hit ABC soap, but it does appear as if this decision was taken prior to Nancy Lee Grahn’s now famous tweet.
This also means that the decision to let Ingo go was taken before the alleged “transphobia” incident and has to do with vaccine mandates. Some fans have now come out and accused Grahn of smearing Ingo Rademacher in order to execute a personal vendetta against someone she’s been in perpetual disagreement with in terms of politics and policy.
The only person who has said anything about Ingo being possibly let go was his co-star Nancy Lee Grahn on Twitter. Here’s what you need to know.
‘General Hospital’: Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) Under Fire For Smearing Like Ingo Rademacher & Making It Look Like He Was FIRED For ‘Transphobia’ Instead of Opposition To Vaccine Mandates
The actor, who is best known for his role as Jasper Jacks on the soap, was slammed for not crossing out the word “dude” when he reposted a tweet from a conservator commentator that used it in reference to U.S. assistant secretary for health, Rachel Levine.
Shortly after that, Cassandra James, who’s portrayed Dr. Terry Randolph on “General Hospital” since 2018 took to her Twitter account to respond to Rademacher’s post. She wrote, “I am aware of a transphobic post shared by a fellow General Hospital actor. Shame on you. You have some serious unlearning and education to do. I feel deeply disappointed that such a public display of ignorance could come from our GH family.”
Nancy Lee Grahn, meanwhile, wrote, “The fellow actor, #IngoRademacher, is mercifully no longer a part of the #gh cast. Transphobia & misgendering are disgusting & should be unacceptable in any industry, including soaps/acting. I stand with my costar @cassandrajames_ & the trans community.”
Although Rademacher has not as yet directly commented on his status with the show, but he did respond to the backlash on an Instagram video. Some fans have remarked that the timing of Nancy Lee Grahn’s tweet, the morning after Cassandra James’ tweet, was suspicious and that it made it sound as if the actor was let go for his alleged ‘transphobic’ behavior. But it looks much more likely that the decision was already taken at that point to let Ingo over the newly-instituted vaccine mandates. It also makes sense considering that Nancy was the first to break the news of Ingo’s firing, so if it were because of the alleged “transphobic” comments, that would mean a producer or management member of GH would have got in contact with NLG within the span of a few hours to let her know of Ingo’s firing. Seems highly unlikely.
In his response, Ingo said, “I don’t really think it’s OK to call a trans an ’empowered woman,’ because where does that leave women? I do apologize for not crossing out ‘dude’ and putting ‘transgender.’ Me, personally, I wouldn’t have written it that way.”
