We enjoyed the history and seeing so many cool cars. Several were limited production and so special. Loved seeing Elvis’s car with an Elvis soundtrack accompanying. Easy access by tram and great 1/2 day experience.

It had been a number of years since I last visited the Alte Pinakothek, one of the oldest galleries in the world that houses a significant collection of Old Master paintings, and I felt compelled to visit it again. This museum, which houses works of art from the 14th to the 18th century, is well laid-out. Should one get lost or cannot find a specific work of art, there are a number of employees present to provide assistance. Photographs are permitted. This is a great museum.

This stop was enjoyable, free and had lots to see. We were able to view many cars and motorcycles and bought a nice souvenir for our son.
We did stop for coffee but there were two nice looking cafes onsite.
We enjoyed this stop more than the museum across the street!

It had been several years since I last visited the Deutsches Museum, and I thought a return visit was warranted. On this most recent visit I found the Deutsches Museum, billed as the world’s largest museum of science and technology, was going through some major renovations, and a number of the exhibits have changed. I found the people who worked at the museum to be friendly and helpful. Persons interested in the history of science and technology would enjoy visiting this impressive museum. I look forward to returning when all the renovations have been completed.

On a recent trip to the Bavarian capital, I made it a point to visit Lenbachhaus, a building housing the Städtische Galerie (Municipal Gallery); I had previously visited this museum a number of years ago upon the recommendation of a person employed by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Photographs are permitted in this museum. I found this visit as enjoyable as the first time I experienced this museum.

I visited the Munich Documentation Center for the History of National Socialism (NS-Dokumentationszentrum). This museum conveys the history of National Socialism and its many evils. While I had been in this museum with a Canadian scholar five years ago, I wanted to visit it again to see if there were any changes to the exhibits. If there were significant changes, I didn’t notice any. Persons interested in German history and the Nazi movement would find this museum enlightening.

Excellent guided tour of the museum. We spent an hour walking around by ourselves before the tour began. The tour brought everything to life, our guide was enthusiastic about the subject and this helped to bring things to life. The highlight for me was seeing Elvis' BMW which had been loving restored.

This museum probably had the best multimedia means of presenting the exhibition. Although the exhibition is not very big, I still spent almost 3 hours there and could've easily spent even more. Also, the ticket was incredibly cheap. I paid 8 euros for me and my 15yo sister (free for kids and teenagers under 18) with audio guides included.

Just one thing I think could be improved. After the exhibition, I was eager to learn more about ancient Egypt, and therefore I considered buying a book on it from the museum shop. While everything in the museum was translated into English too, (almost) all the books in the shop were only in German, besides a few that were meant for children.
Finding very limited to no books in English is not a new experience in Munich, since I've encountered it in all the museums I've visited here so far.

The Pinakothek der Moderne in the Munich Art District is a museum building opened in 2002. During my many visits to Munich, I never visited this museum; while it is not an art form I particularly like, I thought I ought to make an effort to expand my art appreciation. The museum was just opening when I arrived. The young woman who sold me an admission ticket was friendly and humorous, and she was diplomatic when she suggested that I was eligible for a senior discount. Photography was permitted and I took a number of pictures in the various galleries and exhibit areas. Persons interested in this art form would enjoy visiting the Pinakothek der Moderne.

I expected somewhat more from the museum. There are very few machines where you can go inside or see the technical details. In any case, steam locomotives are great even outside! I recommend going if the weather is not good; takes about an hour to walk through.

You cannot miss this museum when in Munich. It is full of great artworks, inviting you to stay there and contemplate and let them talk to you. They offer reduced tickets on Sundays but I would not recommend a visit on Sundays because there are a lot of people and you cannot fully enjoy the experience. The space around is also nice.

We booked the museum together with the Arena tour.
I was there with my friends. It is one of the best team in Germany. The museum was nice.

One of the highlights of our trip to Munich! We saw the Myth of Spain exhibition, which was really well curated and told a fantastic and clear story. Didn’t know anything about the artist going in, and felt I learnt a lot and saw some fantastic art while there.

It was also fairly quiet when we went (Tuesday afternoon) which made a nice change from some of the busier museums!

The café was also really nice - would highly recommend!
